Does anybody know Palpatine's first name?

Does he have a first name?

If anyone knows, and knows where the info is found at, it would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

I don't think there's an official first name for Palpatine, though I've made several up ... Xen, Ken, Qel....

A friend of mine says his name is Ethril Palpatine. I'm not exactly sure where he saw that. Perhaps in a fan fic, Dark Emperor, I think.

    * laughs *

This question gets cycled every once in a while. I don't think there is an official first name for Palpatine. At least that allows you to make up a good and evil one of your own.

It is one that would probably come up.

The reason I asked it is because my teacher put his first name as Doug! Then again, Doug Palpatine (Emperor) is working in the Japan campus of EMC Corporation in Marketing with Garth Brooks.

It was a thing for my final in a class.

It is also something I was wondering about personally.

"Cos" has been bandied (sic) around a few times, cause it shows up in some Lucasfilm stuff early on, but that's unofficial and may be a title and not a name and Lucasfilm has never listed a official first name for Palpatine.

I use Lucian cause it just feels like it fits.

So short answer: No he has no official first name, so feel free to cook one of your own up.

I can't believe no one's made the 'his name is Frank' joke yet!!!

I should really get Frank_Palpatine in here ;).

I remember when I asked this question to one of my friends in ?01, and they told me it was ?Cos?. I just looked at ?The Completely Unofficial Star Wars Encyclopaedia? site, and they just had ?Palpatine? ? no mention of his last name.

As everyone has said, go wild with your imagination :).

I love it! I didn't even think of that!

    Thanks for all your input.

Yeah, I too have heard 'Cos' floating around. That 'Frank' joke is good, though! LOL - I haven't heard that one before! I haven't found the need to make up Palpatine's name in any of my fanfiction, though I did have a similar problem as far as Dooku is concerned. I've seen some great name's going about for him now, though - mine's christened 'Serenn', thanks to a friend. :)

I think making your own name's up for these existing SW characters, who only seem to have surnames and titles, is fun; it adds a real personal element to your story.

Actually, Palpatine is his first name. He just dropped his last name, Antilles, because it was the Star Wars equivalent of Smith, and just didn't fit with his idea of "Galactic Ruler."

Palpatine Antilles. It just rolls off the tongue.
