    is calling someone a "n00b" which is used offensively a flame?

    It depends on the whole context. You can use almost every word for flaming and hurting people.

    But if you ask if n00b is a fobitten word, then the answer is no.

    If you feel like being flamed, then the best way would be to inform the current Mod of the board where this flame happened.

    I hope that clears it up a bit. But if not, please ask. :)

    As Skiara said, 'n00b' is not a verboten term. However, it depends entirely on the context in which it is used.

    For example, if I were to call someone a "stupid n00b", it is most definitely a flame. However, I myself, as the newest member of the Mod Squad, am routinely referred to as the "n00b Mod" by the other Moderators. In that instance, it's no big deal, and meant as a joke.

    If you ever feel you're being flamed by that, or any, term, please PM a Moderator.

    It is just a word...that has dirty meanings with a small minority in southern north pakistan....
