FF:WA A real Star Wars universe????? Possible???

Okay. This may seam to be a stupid topic [like most of my threads] but heres the question.
Does anyone here reckon sometime in the future that things will start to turn out like starwars. Minus the Jedi powers and stuff. But do you reckon one day there will be large interstella battle and stuff........ I wish i was alive then to fight.

 

You mean will they have Star Destroyers that are many KM's long?

Nah sorry, I can't see that far into the future. I'm sure there will be spaceships and transports someday thou, I should be around to see them as well, I'll be old but alive that is. Who knows?

That reminds me, what ever happen to that show BEYOND 2000? Has anything from that show actually arrived today or are those gadgets simply toys today. I wouldn't mind a BEYOND 2050 show.

 

I think the universe maybe come like Star Wars with Intergalactic Battles, spaceships, visiting other planets and lifeforms.

 

Im not sure about the clarity of this but it was mentioned of Discovery last month that NASA after being frustrated with cost and limitations of rocket fuel, are looking at now sinking full interest in ION engines.

The day is coming when holograms are coming.
Computer techs are talking about holographic hard drive, 3D monitors and palm pilots, mobile phones getting smaller and having a larger capacity to multi task.

Star Wars era is comin.

Ive seen what looked like a projector that was casting up in the air a hologram of a person talking. So yes things like that should be possible.

Does anyone else remember when the show beyond 2000 used to be called Towards 2000? I seem to remember that being the name of the show in the early 80s.

The Star Wars Universe, (Or if you will, galaxy) will only become a reality when physics as we know it change, in other words, never...

I think we'd be closer to heading towards the look of the Alien movies, minus the Aliens I hope...

 

I, personally, cannot wait until there's sound in space so I can have an engine that sounds like a TIE fighter.

 

And a breathable atmosphere on every planet.

I think some laws of physics could be broken if we develope technology further enough but that's my opinion. I would like to own my own spaceship that I can travel into outerspace whenever I like and go to other planets but that won't happen in my liftime.

 

Ivo1 some of us here are old enough to almost make Yoda look like a teenager... there was also a show called Towards 2000 which was the precurser to Beyond 2000.

I think wormholes could become reality though. Some say I have a far fetched imagination but it would be cool to jump around the universe through wormholes.

I honestly think that whoever thought up that show has some wierd fetishes.

 

Apparently NASA is creating a passenger aircraft that flies through the outer layers....... just equippe it with lasers and photon torpedos . I cant wait until i can fly through space and blow other ships up with my laser's

 

Sorry to be a killjoy, but flying around shooting things in space and the like wont be happening soon, even with Ion engines and the like.

There's this thing called g-forces, which mean unless they are compensated for, currently by thick suits and cusioned chairs, you get squashed into a pulp if ya try to turn too quickly.

Untill acceleration compensators are invented, there is no way a ship could possibly turn fast enuf to make space fights a reality.

I tried to explain something like this earlier, but I guess I was more gently crushing their futile hopes
