The only thing unsupported by the text is your suggestion that any of that list of criminals and persecutors would be at all worthwhile. What is interesting about seeing two mindless brutes that helped someone carry through a betrayal before getting killed by Ned Stark? Especially when you presume to leave out their victim.

how much has Stoneheart been set up in this show? We already understand people can be brought from the dead. Brotherhood's been set up as far as I recall.

No. We don't know who are playing the new characters yet either.

 

That's so general, I'd hardly consider it a spoiler. All of those things are pretty clearly set up at the end of ADWD.

I certainly hope it's misdirection, but they've already changed Brienne's plot somewhat, and there were indications that the next show season is going to send Jamie to Dorne, so it's possible.

 

I'd agree there wouldn't be much point to it from a creative standpoint.

But that's never stopped them, before.

 

To be fair, I think they're trolling with Lady Stoneheart.

1) I think they filmed the Lady Stoneheart scene (Book 3 epilogue) already. While they had Michelle Fairley around still (no reason not to do it then).
2) Because they filmed the scene, Lena Headley thought it was coming and put the Instagram up (she has explicitly not been trolling with fans in that way, only teasing for book-only people).
3) The showrunners are condensing the storyline and this will be used, likely, for the end of S5. Because they've already filmed, Fairley is correct in that she will not be signed for S5.
4) She will have a cameo at the end of S6 (Brienne's intersection with Pod).
5) She will be back after that.

I suspect some measure of that is correct; they can't just cut the whole Cat is alive thing -- I can't imagine that not having payoff with Littlefinger later on in the books.

 

I agree it'd be a bit weird to cut the storyline given the alternative is that they dragged Melisandre's butt into a dodgy cave somewhere in Westeros solely so Berric Dondarrion could tell her about the afterlife. EDIT: Or lack thereof.
