It had BETTER be Leia or not Lara! Or SOMEONE is gonna get thwacked... and Luke is first on the list! (hit my scruffy Corellian against a tree and thinks he can get away with it!)

The lovers pulled apart. Each basking in the light of the other's eyes. They had waited so long to be together again, and neither wanted to let the other go.

"I wish we had more time for this." Leia murmured. "But I guess I should tell the other's that I made it out. Specially my brother." Leia got up to leave from the bed.

"Actually, sweetheart...Luke left a few hours ago to go after Vader. He thinks he was going to save you." Han told her. "I tried to go with him, honey. He knocked me out before he left, then I woke up in here."

Leia stared at Han in complete horror. "No." She whispered. "I came back so that he wouldn't go. Vader will hand him over to the Emperor now."

Han got up to move toward her, when another person entered the room with them, half dressed in her military clothes, her long hair hanging around her shoulders, framing her body perfectly. She looked like a red haired goddess, and Han Solo knew that he was going to die right where he stood because of the stupid look he couldn't shake off of his face if he tried too.

"Hey, baby, you're awake," Lara grinned, shaking out her wet shinning hair from the towel it was wrapped in. "Sorry that I kept you waiting so long," She exclaimed in her usual teasing tone.

Lara turned her head toward the bed and stared awe-struck at the grief-stricken face of Leia Organa. "Leia! You're back!"

"And I take it Lara put you in her bed, then," Leia glowered back at Han. "Was I interrupting an interlude before I came in? I know that I have been gone awhile, Han. But seriously; couldn't you even attempt to make sure if I was still alive before jumping into the sack with one of my "friends" first?"

Leia moved to dash out of the room. Strong hands caught the sides of her arms and she couldn't move. "Let me go!" Leia hissed furiously in his face.

"Not so fast, sweetheart. There is nothing funny going on in here, and you know it! You know that I love you, and wouldn't ever dream about looking at anyone else but you. So tell me what's really going on in here, huh?"

"I'll leave!" Lara said. Then she was gone, unnoticed.

Leia began crying against him and Han instinctively embraced her into his warm body.

"I'm sorry." He whispered softly. "I love you! Forgive me?"

Wordlessly, heartbrokenly, Leia knodded her head as he rocked her back and forth in his arms.

He stood waiting there.

The girl had been released at his order to return to her friends; he knew that his son would be on his way to locate his missing sister, and there was no further need to keep Leia with him so close to his master. Vader had taken notice of the Emperor's keen interest in her. The looks he would give Vader whenever he mentioned on her progress as his prisoner. Vader knew the Emperor had great, personal interest, in his daughter, as he had once the same interest in her mother before her end.

Both were beautiful women that carried great power with them in the Force, and his master wanted to twist that into something cruel, something that would not leave Leia the same, again.

At least with Luke, he can protect himself. He knew the Dark Side when he seen it, and would fight Palpatine until Vader had the chance to finally destroy him and take his place.

Once Palpatine was gone, Vader would then use his son to turn Leia against the Light. Only Luke would be able to win her over completely. He would only be able to turn her against Solo and the rest of her friends.

The visions he had sent her through the Force about her mother had not been enough. Leia still hadn't trusted them fully as the truth. And Vader could read from her mind that the last time Leia had seen her mother had been when she was a baby in her arms, and Leia could remember her perfectly as if she had been a much older child when Padme had left her on Alderaan.

Oh man oh man! That Lara... well I truly hope Leia realizes that Han didn't do anything or planned too!!

They could see the Imperial bunker from the hilltop. It was surrounded by a small troop of officers, reminding Leia of the small squad that had escorted her around Vader's Ship and the Death Star for months and months. The group stood outside, and in the single glass corridor that was visible, stood Darth Vader, waiting for Luke to come to him.

"Come on!" Leia urged, beginning to move down the hill. Han grabbed her arm and shook his head furiously. "Are you crazy, sweetheart, or just plain dense?"

"What!" Leia protested hotly; the question getting a rise out of her. "Are you kidding with me here, Han?" She growled. "Because now isn't the time."

"You might be on some strange terms with daddy dearest right now, but I'm sure as hell not! You remember what happened the last time he wanted to have a little chat with me?" Han snapped back. "I'm not going down there, and neither are you! I don't trust him, and I never will!"

"But he'll listen to me, Han. I can stop him from taking Luke to the Emperor."

"You're not stopping nothing, sweetheart, look! We're too late!"

Leia looked back at the bunker, and nearly cried out at what she had seen. Luke had arrived.

"I'm going down there! I don't care!"

She began to move again, and Han didn't stop her this time.

He did the only thing that Han Solo could do right then.

He swallowed back all his reservations, and followed her down the hilltop.

"Father!"

Vader looked back at Luke, his son, finally admitting who he truly was to him. His father. That filled him with a sense of pride that Vader had not felt in many long years. Not since the day that Padme had told him that she had been pregnant...

"Anakin, we're having a baby," Padme had cried out in joy, tossing herself against him. "Actually I think it will be twins. I'm so big already."

"You're beautiful, that's what you are. I'm so sorry that I can't stay. Master Obi-Wan is waiting for me on Coruscant."

"I need you here though. I'm six months pregnant, Anakin, and I'm only getting to tell you this right now. We've seen so little of each other, Anakin. I miss you so much, every day. I'm going mad not being with you."

"Obi-Wan doesn't know about us yet. Just a little longer, and I'll tell him. Then we don't need to hide anymore."

What a coward he had been then. He had been still too naive and much too young then for her. His refusal to tell the Jedi about their marriage had only proven that fact. He had wanted the galaxy at his feet when he could have just had her. His dear wife who had loved him until her end, and he had betrayed her for a galaxy who had thought him to be a monster.

What a fool he had been then. An ache that he hadn't let himself feel in many years filled his chest then, and he could have sworn he seen her just then standing in the corridor with them beside their son. Her beautiful deep coloured eyes were haunted looking, as if they had been closed inside this mask with him for the last twenty-three years. Trapped, waiting for him to set them free.

She looked as if she were trying to speak, and then she vanished all together from his sight.

"The Emperor has been expecting you!" Vader then rumbled, choosing to ignore the vision as much as he could. After all, it was only a vision. She wasn't real. She hadn't been in a very long time.

"I feel the good in you, father. The conflict. So does she."

Vader stopped walking dead in his tracks. Was he talking about Padme? Had he seen her too?

 

*Snrk* Yep typical Han following her even after saying he wasn't gonna go down there hehehe

Poor Vader! I feel sorry for him Perhaps there is still hope... though time will tell.

I'd like to smack that Lara upside the head... *pulls out gaffi stick*

 

"I feel her presence. I felt it the first time I walked through those doors back there."

Vader sighed almost loudly when he realised what Luke was talking about. He sensed the presence of his daughter close by, and she was heading this way toward them with Han Solo. That meant that they could not remain here any longer.

"Mother. She's always with you, isn't she?"

Vader gasped for air at that statement. It shocked him to no end. Luke had been speaking about Padme. Knowing what he had seen wasn't part of his imagination filled his chest up high with hope. That was another emotion that Darth Vader wasn't used too.

"I wouldn't know." Vader replied truefully. "I thought that she had been a dream. It has been too long since I last seen her face. It's been far too long since I felt anything like I do now. I must not linger on these feelings or the Emperor will be enraged when he sees you son. We must go, now, or your sister will try and prevent you from leaving with me. She will try and prevent both of us from going back."

"Part of you wishes to listen to her. Why not do that, father? It's not too late. It's never too late to change if you wish it."

Vader shook his masked head no. "My time for forgivness passed with the death of her. She died because of my foolishness. Your mother felt so much pain because I had been too naive, and much too blind in my own pride. I thought she had betrayed me. I saw him with her, comforting her at not having me with her, and I thought I saw something else altogether. I lost the two people I had loved the most then, and it was all my own doing. I pushed them away, and wouldn't listen. Obi-Wan had tried to the end to prove that I was wrong. He felt if I could see that truth about Padme, that she would never betray me like that with anyone, that there would still be some hope left for me."

"She loves you still father." Luke pressed. "I can feel it! Obi-Wan and mother still believe that there is hope for you."

"Time for such foolishness has passed, son." Vader waved open the next set of doors with the Force, and Luke only lingered for a moment before following him inside the turbo lift to go up to his Shuttle at the top of the platform.

A ghostly spirit appeared in the now quiet corridor, watching the broken man that was once his apprentice, and feeling deeply inside that there was still good behind that man in black armour. It flowed powerfully in the Force, and it was not something that Obi-Wan Kenobi ever thought that he would feel again.

His bond through the Force with Anakin had returned.

"Perhaps my daughter was right after all, Master Jedi."

"Perhaps, Padme. Perhaps that we were all wrong." The old man grinned.

 

Yay! Obi can feel it!! The good still inside Vader/Anakin!! And the two (Obi & Padme) talking there loved it!! Great job!!

Keep it up Luke! Make him remember and ponder on those feelings!

The doors to the AT-AT bunker whooshed open upon Han Solo blasting a hole through the doors, and with Princess Leia leading the way, they hurried into the main corridor where Luke and Vader had been, and who were which now long gone.

"We're too late. I'm sorry, sweetheart," Han said softly, feeling her grief at since her brother had already left with Vader for the Death Star. "Luke will be all right. He's a strong man, and will be all right up there. He can handle himself, honey."

Leia's eyes were misted over with tears of frustration. "I hope so. I'm just so afraid that I am about to lose the only family that I have left. I can't loose him, Han. Not like this!"

"I'm your family." Han told her instinctively. "Well, I wanna be. I can't see my future without you in it, Leia. I want to really settle things between us when this is all over. I want to talk about our future."

"It could take years to settle things with the war, Han. I won't have time to be somebody's wife."

"You won't just be somebody's wife, sweetheart. You will be my wife."

Leia allowed herself to soften at the earnest look on Han Solo's face. He was really serious about this. He wanted to marry her when this was finished. She touched his cheek and kissed him.

"I'll be your wife." She agreed softly.

Han beamed with contentment at those words, and kissed her deeply in return, sealing their promises for the future that Han knew that they were going to have together. Be it through midst of war or not.

The opposite doors to the corridor hissed open then, and Han stepped infront of Leia instinctively so. There stood at the end of the corridor was Vader himself.

"If we are not all dead first." Leia finished with a dry murmur in Han's ear.
