In our June meeting thread we have been discussing having an upcoming event involve bowling at a bowling alley. Well, it seems that Lucasfilm has also been thinking about involving Star Wars fans in bowling. LOL On May 27, 2005, StarWars.com announced plans to start a bowling league for Star Wars fans. According to the website

"'The only requirement to join is to be a Star Wars fan and a desire to have a lot of fun,' Strike Ten/Leading Edge Promotions Executive Vice-Present John Harbuck says. 'Participating centers will be offering various league formats including youth leagues, adult leagues and also family leagues to ensure that every Star Wars fan can participate in a bowling league that fits their lifestyle.'"

Also, by joining the league you are eligible to purchase exclusive Star Wars bowling balls "that feature scenes from all six films of the Star Wars saga" and have various characters on them.

Is anyone interested in forming a league? I've never been on a bowling league before, but this sounds kind of cool. I can even get a bowling ball with Leia on it. :) I've seen these sort of leagues involving Disney movies but I never thought SW would have one. LOL Also, if we join the league there is probably a good chance we'll run into more SW fans who might not have heard about us. ;)

I dunno if you guys wanna be around me while I fire 16 lb acrylic balls down a narrow wooden lane.

I mean, it's all fun and games until ...

    j/k

of course, count me in. I make my own schedule so I can do this. I'm actually pretty psyched.

    It'll be fun.

No, I won't be able to attend the meeting Saturday. I have a bridal shower that afternoon. I'll be at the con later though.

I stopped by Melville Lanes and picked up the registration form. That's how I got this information. Its all on the form.

I'd prefer if we all go down to register together one day. We all need to fill out a form anyway.

Everyone yesterday Me, Trooper Chris & Game Crazy Chris went
down to Sports Plus (Kenny couldnt make it). We went into
there Bowling area (and checked out the whole layout). I
guess it was around 1:30/2pm and the bowling area had alot
of lanes avaible at this time. I know Sunday would a great
day for everyone to play a game(since 99% of us are off).
They have plenty of lanes. Just some food for thought.

Yeah Sports Plus seemed like the Hoth system; devoid of life forms.

Bowling was like 10% filled. Plus a real cute girl playin' MS PACMAN!!! I know I'm goin' back!

AND!!! I found the Clone Trooper figure I was lookin' for. They're tough to find in stores. It made my day.

For those of you who don't know Sports Plus it's a huge funcenter. Sure there's about 20 lanes to bowl, an arcade floor with a small indoor amusement park, large event rooms upstairs for conventions and such, Lasertron which is like team laser tag, ice skating on a full-sized hockey rink ... lots of things to do.

It's like Jillians but with a bit less arcade and more stuff to do.

Typically the place is packed FRI/SAT. Sun is great for us tho. Think about it.

    Chris

    Ho-hummmm -

Sorry Rob! Maybe it's just because I'm surrounded by video games all day.

Or maybe I shouldn't be explaining the difference between going back to play MS Pacman versus going back to see an extremely attractive girl!

Hmmmm, video game or attractive woman ...

    tough choice!

It's the power pellets that tipped the scale on that one. :)

BTW nice find with the slot machine.

    Later man.

    Chris
