A summer project...

You know what would be really fun?

If our group made a fanfilm. It could be really good. Or silly, or action packed, whatever.

But I know some other groups have made some and they've all turned out pretty good.

But to do it we would need a script (something we can all work on together)

Actors (us)

Costumes (I think we have most of them already)

A camera/s

Somebody to edit the film

Somebody to be in charge of sound

Location scout(another thing we can all contribute to, even if it means taking a weekend trip down to the red sand dunes)

Props

Sets

Special effects

But I think that we could film it during the summer then have the rest of the winter to edit and stuff. It could be really great!

Okay, I'd love to do this. I act, I direct, by this summer I MIGHT have my computer and I know some things or twos about doing lightsaber effects w/ photoshop. I'm also planning on getting a DV camera after I get my computer (should also get it by this summer). And I'm getting some video editing software too...

can't tell I'm interested in filmmaking, can ya?

Props I think we can do. We can get the sabers and DH is a friggin propmakinmaster.

I can come up with good ideas for scripts too, but I've only written short stories, never attempted to tackle scriptwriting...

I'll just have to wait and see how things go...I would love to be a part of it even if I just got to act in it (but I'd really love to help direct).

 

I've already written a screen play before... lemme go find the link for it... So I can do that. And you could help me a bit with the plot and stuff...

Not my best work. There had already been some scenes written and I had to work around those. But most of it is mine.

But this time, I'll have absolute control so it's guarnteed to be better.

I am an editor and camera operator, I have a digital8 camera, some lighting and all the software we might need, I don't write or direct so I'm happy to stay out of that. Any way I can help I will.

Well, as many of you have noticed, I write a lot. I've written a one act, several short stories that were published, and I'm still working on a novel, as well as some other projects. I am also an expert editor (writing not video), since I have worked with 3 siblings w/ learning disabilities & an office full of people who do not understand how to put together a coherent paragraph, I get lots of practice. We could collaborate on a script.

 

I am also very good at print editing...I was the go-to guy for proofreading for my HS newspaper (which usually meant I had to read every last word in the entire paper before it was printed). Also came close to winning state in editing...close but no cigar. oh well, I took 1st in regionals .

 

My vote is that we do a very serious piece to illustrate that Lucas should not let the series die off....the FORCE will live on!!!!

Sounds like it might be fun. We might be able to use the shop here at my office during the weekends for prop building.

 

I'm in. I like to act. I think we should do something funny. As for the lighsaber stuff, we don't need them to look realistic. Some of the fan films I've seen have the toy lightsabers; it makes it funnier sometimes.

 

Unless we want to do a serious film, which honestly I think would be better, comedies can be really hard to pull off sometimes.

And it would be cool to collaborate on a script. Any body have plot ideas??

 

Oooo... I just had a killer of an idea Prepare to be scared. But I won't tell you guys just yet, I think I let the plot bunny simmer a bit, it brings out the flavor...

 

A powerful extrapolation of ROTJ using known characters and entities, but with some devious twists to make the reappearance of the Sith even more henious!!!

 

How would we do that? Nobody looks like a known character.

 

Known characters from the books, ect...not the movie persay.
