While I do love seeing your cards I must throw up a hand in question regarding your Jedi Tests.

Personally i've always wanted to see a Jedi Test #7. It would take Luke from Jedi Knight to Jedi Master and would allow him to become Ability 7...

Problem with introducing other Jedi #s is that it throws off available cards.

Perhaps starting a new set of Jedi tests would be better in the grand scheme of things. Younglings being test #1...

Just my opinion Course I'd also die to get a high quality Empty Jedi test so I can finish out my own set from Jedi Knight (ie Kyle Katarn etc)

Thanks for the comments. I'm still debating the numbering of the Jedi tests. I agree that my Jedi test #7 doesn't fit with the other 6 very well. I suppose the other option is to label them alphabetically, so that I'd have tests A, B and C. I am planning on adding a fourth test, allowing ascension to the rank of master, but I thought it would go best in a Revenge of the Sith expansion. (if I ever get that far!!!).
I'm currently working on the political aspects of AOTC based around the Epic Event "secede from the Republic". I'll post in due course.

Hello everyone. I started this thread to revive a project that was worked on by members of this site from 2002 through 2012. A little background. A member by the name The2ndQuest started this project to create new Star Wars CCG cards based on Episode 2 soon after it was announced that Decipher lost the license. The thread spanned thousands of posts, and a ton of work was done in creating new cards that could be printed out and played with (similar to V-cards). When the project stalled, another member of this site continued to work on the cards behind the scenes.

Fast forward to today. I have obtained all the files necessary to continue this project. There were three sets created to cover Episode 2, and each set has over 160 cards for which I have game text and images. The three sets and their description are below.

Heart of the Republic - Cards depicting scenes/characters from Coruscant and Naboo along with Speeder Chase mechanics.
Kamino - Cards depicting scenes/characters from Kamino and cloning mechanics.
Geonosis - Cards depicting scenes/characters from Geonosis and rescuing Obi-Wan, Anakin and Amidala. Basically the end of the movie.

I have spent a ton of time combing through the files, looking for errors and fixing cards from the first planned set (Heart of the Republic). I have created a new playtest file with all the corrected game text from this expansion and they are available for download below. I have taken a previously posted "rules supplement" and modified it as appropriate.

So, what I would like to do is gauge interest in this project. With a few more people, I feel we could complete this project and potentially move onto creating cards from Episode 3. The intent is that these cards would work with the Decipher created cards, separate from the Virtual Cards that the players committee have created. I would love to hear from more people who might be interested. I would gladly do the leg work in modifying photoshop files as needed. I have a lot more information regarding these cards, but I figured this would be a good start. So please reply to this thread if you are interested in contributing in any way, and lets get this project completed.

Hey all.

I am still looking for people interested in reviving. Right now I am working on getting the Heart of the Republic set up to 180 cards. I have to add around 13 cards to achieve that. Once I do, I will post updated playtest files. The updated file will also include some errors and fixes I found already. I want to be clear that I have ALL of the cards in JPEG format with the proper Template. Once some playtesting is done and the cards are finalized, I will release PDF files (or individual JPEG if requested) for the cards so that they may be printed and used.

I am also working on the Kamino set, an enhanced episode 2 set, and a new reflections set. The Kamino set has ~170 cards so my goal is to clean up the cards and also make it 180 even. The enhanced set will contain characters with weapons built in similar to other enhanced sets. I am shooting for 12 cards for this set. Finally, the reflections set will contain defensive shields along with 2nd Quests lightsaber combat cards. I have most of those completed already. I'm sure it will have additional cards as I work my way through the episode 2 sets. I think 54 cards would a reasonable goal.

Please post to this thread and/or PM me if interested in contributing. This is an incredible project and it is so close to completion that with a little effort, we can have some amazing EP2 cards to play with.

Update. I have completed the HOTR playtest file. The latest version is linked below. There are 180 cards total (90 light, 90 dark). There were some minor updates to the previously posted cards, but the main change is the addition of several cards for both the light and dark side. The new cards are on the last two pages of each document.

In the meantime I have been continuing to work on the Kamino and Geonosis sets. I have ~95% of the cards complete for Kamino. Once finished, I will start building the playtest file similar to the HOTR file. Then I will move onto Geonosis. The card count for each set are as follows:

Heart of the Republic - 180 Cards (90 LS, 90 DS)
Kamino - 182 Cards (106 LS, 76 DS)
Geonosis - 192 Cards (84 LS, 108 DS) I will probably move some of these to the Episode 2 Reflections Set
Episode 2 Reflections - 14 Cards (9 LS, 5 DS) Would like to have this be at least 54 cards
Episode 2 Enhanced Set - 8 Cards (5 LS, 3 DS) Ideally would be 12 cards

Awesome job on the cards. Same to smudger9. Was wondering if you both were still working on the project or if it's hit a lull. I've been curious to try continuing the cards myself, then came across you guys. I'm more so a collector than a player, so my knowledge of how the game works is a bit rusty. But if I can help out, I'd be happy to.

 

Seriously, just go to the player's committee site (swccgpc.com) and participate. They have PLENTY of prequel trilogy cards including dooku, anakin, jango, and all of those other goofballs. That way, you're actually helping to keep the game alive instead of just making dream cards.

Yes, I am still working on the cards. I am about half way through creating the playtest files for the Kamino set. Right now I am looking for people to go through the HOTR cards. Print out the playtest files, test them, etc.

The SWCCG Players Committee just did a major reset, essentially eliminating the last 12 years of work. So most of the prequel trilogy cards are no longer legal except in a vintage type format which really won't be supported. This seems like a great time to revitalize this project. The other benefit is that this project uses art from the movies where the Players Committee pretty much can't use anything other than fan created art.

I will send you a PM with my email. I would love to see some of your work. I have a reflections Episode 2 set which may be a good place where we could possibly include some of your KOTR cards.

Anyways, I hope to get some more interest, so please keep posting. As mentioned previously, all of my cards have art from the movies. I won't post them publicly due to issues this project ran into previously, but I am open to setting up a private set for viewing the cards in the future.

 

Great to hear it's continuing. I'd definitely love to see the private set once you're at that point. I'm a graphic designer, so all I've been doing so far is trying to recreate the templates for the cards, given that I can't find any online (I'm assuming the original PSD files were given to the Players Committee). Though, the ones already made are flawless. But like I said before, given my skill set, if you need any help in that department, let me know. As for testing, I can give it a go. Although, like I said before, I'm a bit rusty. Been awhile.

Also, as my current test card, I've created Ahsoka Tano, if you'd like to see. I was also planning on making Asajj, Duchess Satine and a Dathomir Witch, to cover The Clone Wars. All artwork uses actual models, not the cartoon CGI. Took a bit of work to make them look like movie stills.

I finally read the entire thread, haha. Had a few questions given the finished edition: some cards reference Quinlan Vos, but his card isn't listed, is he meant to be saved for the Reflections? Also, what happened to the Forbidden Love Event in the HOTR. Still working on the creature and Jedi Tests templates btw.

Awesome job on the Kamino set as well. Would it be ok to have access/see the rest?

 

Take a look at the Kamino playtest file. It has the Forbidden Love card. Quinlan Vos will be released in the Revenge of the Sith expansions, if we ever get that far. For now you can take a look at the playtest files to see what the text will look like for the rest of the cards. I am open to any ideas on how to set up viewing for the remainder of the cards. As you might have seen from previous post in the thread, they had to remove the files from public viewing due to a complaint from Decipher or Lucas Arts (can't remember which). So any option to post the majority of the cards would need to be private in some way.

Great to know you are working on the templates. There are a few others I could use help with, but I will wait for the other two to start. Let me know if you have any ideas on a good way to set up viewing for all of the cards.

 

Dropbox is one possibility. Is putting all the jpgs together in a zip too large a file to email individually? It'd be more time consuming but it'd solve the issue if there isn't a mass request. You could do what Smudger did and have them up on Photobucket. His still seem to be up. Could set up a private album and simply message those requesting the password /means of access.

Good call on moving Forbidden Love to the Kamino set. With Quinlan though, wouldn't it make more sense to have him as a reflections or in the geonosis set? Given that's the time period he begins to become active, plus he'd stay within the set with cards already tied to him, instead of a future separate series of sets. Plus since he was in Episode I but not shown in III (ironically). Just a thought, you're considerably more advanced at coordinating the sets, haha.

 

I am definitely open to ideas with Quinlan. I am following a lot of what Smudger did on this. While I am a Star Wars fan, there are a lot more people who know a lot more than I do about the expanded universe and subtle characters (such as with Quinlan). Having him in Revenge of the Sith was Smudger's idea. Reflections may be a better place. Right now the set breakdown is as follows:

Heart of the Republic - 180 Cards (90 LS, 90 DS)
Kamino - 182 Cards (106 LS, 76 DS)
Geonosis - 192 Cards (84 LS, 108 DS)
Enhanced EP2 (Working Name) - 8 Cards (5 LS, 3 DS)
Reflections EP2 (Working Name) - 13 Cards (8 LS, 5DS)

180 and 182 cards is the goal for set size since that is what Deciphers sets generally were. The Geonosis set is a little heavy, and some cards may need to be moved to the Episode II Reflections set. The Enhanced set is fairly complete. I started that from scratch. I would be happy anywhere between 6 and 12 cards. I believe all the Decipher sets were 6 or 12 cards. The Reflections 2 set needs a lot of work, but I started that from scratch has Smudger hadn't done any work on it. Ideally some of the Geonosis cards could fall into that set, and then I would like to have some defensive shields and combo cards to fill out that set. I think the ideal amount for the Reflections Set would be 52-104, again based on past Decipher sets.

 

Regarding the files, I think my drop box account would exceed its free limit although I like this idea. The files are definitely too large to email in one large file. It looks like a single set of 180 cards would be ~110MB zipped. I believe the previous group had them on a site similar to photobucket, and that is when they ran into issues. A private album would probably solve the problem though. I may took a look at photobucket and see what their free files limits are and if you can have private albums that are password only. Action item for me.

 

If you'll be moving cards around, I'd say Dark Acolyte (aka Asajj Ventress) and the Sora Bulq cards could probably transition into Reflections. Then add Quinlan Vos to even those out. Just character-wise. They were tied into Geonosis but didn't play any major parts in it, so it'd make sense. My two-pennies. Though maybe that'd overbalance the set, given there's so many jedi's for the light side characters. Shouldn't the amount of LS vs DS cards per set be even, like HOTR? Or is it evening out by the last set?

 

Ideally the sets would be even, but I think as long as they are close when the sets are combined, that is what matters. There are just too many cards for the LS associated with Kamino. It is quite difficult to come up with cards for the DS.

FYI, there are technically already Dark Acolyte and Sora Bulq cards in Geonosis. Here is their game text as currently done, although it is almost the same as what you provided, just different art. I am onboard with Quilan Vos being in Reflections. I will add that to my notes.

I pretty much have all the cards complete for an enhanced Episode II. Finally, also working on a Reflections set around Episode II which includes the lightsaber forms mentioned above along with a few shields. This still needs some more cards though.
