    A Tale of Lovers Undecided

Sit back my friend and you will hear a tale of lovers two.
Though they'd never admit their adoration each loves the other through and through.
A fight broke out and scathing words pushed them far apart.
The pirate was distateful and the princess's tongue was tart.

That princess with no kingdom and the pirate long wished dead
were cornered by marauders and chased into rocky bed.
Inside the rocks the heroes dug themselves deep into the mire
until long awaited kisses finally sparked up the ancient fire.

But sadly by marauders, our heroes have been caught.
Before the hanging judge the pirate was finally brought.
Bound and beaten and sentenced to life,
Princess's heart ached for pirates strife.

A burst of courage came out from blue
and she finally told him what he already knew.
A smile came forth in answer but nothing else he gave.
The princess knew that for next time the sweet words he would save.

Can the princess save her pirates life?
Will love prevail o'er agony and strife?
Only time will tell my friends but I can guarantee,
if pirate survives seven hells this tale ends
    happily.

Gah! I want the rest of the story! I loved the line about the princess with no kingdom and the pirate long wished dead. :)

Really liked this! Had a folk tale sort of feel, I could see it being repeated around a fire or something. Nice work! =D=

This is awesome, I've never read anything like it on here. Great poetry. I felt like I was back in English class (not a bad thing). I loved the original way you put the story.

    Great job!

Lovely work! =D= I particulary enjoyed this part:

A burst of courage came out from blue
and she finally told him what he already knew.
A smile came forth in answer but nothing else he gave.
The princess knew that for next time the sweet words he would save.

It does have a folk-like, lyrical style to it. Very original. Hoping for more. :)

Be proud of your poetry skills. It is not an easy art to master, especially getting the syllables in a line right. I agree with all who have said that this has the feel of a folktale, and I think that is because you don't actually mention Han and Leia's name in the poem, thus it becomes, in essence, timeless. Would love to read a sequel! :)

I like this so don't take what I say next wrong! When I first started reading I found myself trying to sing it to the theme of Gilligan's Island. When it didn't fit, I started over and realised how lovely it is!!!!!!

    Edited for typo!

I also was thinking "Gilligan's Island" at first! Anyway, it was a beautiful poem, a timeless story. I'm glad to hear you're thinking about a sequel to it!
