[So many,] whispered the Trianii almost to himself as he stared around the wards for a moment. Nik'tia stood behind Sanomar and Satryna. As she looked around her, many feeling crossed thru her. She swallowed hard, trying to deal with the wave of emotions going tru her. The look on his face pained her. She dropped her head, thinking.

She knew she was responsible for this...but not for all of it. There was something else...with everything else going on, she didnt have a chance to tell Sanomar about it. But she knew.

Her explosive could take down the floor easily...even two. But the entire building? that would take placing explosives in key areas. She KNEW how...but she had not. To bring down most of the building...someone else had to be involved. Perhaps another assassin?

She saw Sanomar glanced across to one bed; which was surrounded by a collection of tiny, blue images floating around the occupant's form. A senator.

They had called a meeting of the Senate.

Sanomar shook himself, and turned to Satryna Nova. [We have to find the Chancellorr's rrooms. The Senate must be made awarre of the disaster in the Temple.]

Nik'tia spoke softly, her head down..."Is that a good idea?"

Sanomar started down the corridor, looking for someone who seemed to know their way around. Nick snorted softly, and followed behind them.

Satryna Nova noticed movement. Someone was coming towards them and seemed intent on intercepting them. Med-center security.

"We seem to have attracted someone's attention." Satryna said calmly to Master Sanomar and pointed at the approaching security guard with her chin.
Satryna took the initiative and calmly moved to meet the security guard, who seemed relieved and glad to see them.

"Greetings." said the guard and noded. Satryna returned the gesture. " My superior would like to meet with you at once. I shall escort you to him."

Nik'tia hovered behind the two Jedi. While she wanted to stay close, she did not want to be face to face with the Chancellor..or whoever this 'superior' was. They were being watched...that much was sure. The escort showed up too quickly. She would follow for now.

Satryna turned towards Master Sanomar and waited to see if he had anything to say.

"There!" Janus said pointing and with a sudden surge of excitement. He quiclky spoke into his comm-link.

"Send one of our people to intercept them before anyone else does...we need to get some answers."

He looked at Fiona and pointed to another monitor which showed a hospital security member quickly moving to intercept the Jedi. "Those are the two Jedi Senator Morwer and I went into the temple with last time!" Fiona grinned. She was very glad to see them alive. She had serious doubts about their survival. Perhaps they would bring new.

Fiona listed to what senator Abriel was telling the Senators. She was also releived to see Senator Skywalker there as well. She was sure she had been killed.

Senator Skywalker spoke, "Honourable delegates, Chancellor. If Naboo is being invaded, for the time being let Naboo deal with it. If needed, Naboo will ask for your help. We will contact Her Highness and find out what is going on. Until then, leave this to us."

"Senator Abriel...an entire fleet you say? this is quite large force to be considered just a 'rogue element' within the Imperial Remnant." Senator Caslon looked directly into Senator Abriel's holo image, and then turned slowly to face the rest of the delegates. He suggested a joint ventrue, between the republic and the Imperial remnant forces.

Then he turned to Senator Skywalker.

"Senator Skywalker...the situation facing Naboo is great indeed. Conventional means of Communications will no doubt be disrupted, and according to Senator Abriel, there will be a blockade placed upon the planet, leaving the Naboo with no means of contacting anyone for assistance. You sound confident that Her Majesty the Queen will be able to contact you,

    Abriel

"Senator Von Straub," said Abriel, his eyes fixed on Skywalker, "I certainly would have no difficulty with a combined Imperial and Republic force being sent to Naboo. The difficulty arises from the Talinost Treaty, as I have said. By its very terms...which, to my recollection, Senator Skywalker's family had much to do with...no Imperial ship is permitted to cross the Republic's borders unless the Treaty is suspended. My government is caught in a conflict of honour. We do not wish there to be any suffering on Naboo, but we will not break that treaty at the risk of war with the Republic. Too much blood has been spilled on that account already."

He stood silently, waiting for the next gambit.

    Sanomar

The Trianii Master nodded to Satryna Nova. [We will go with you. But we have urrgent business with the Senate.]

He sensed the tremor of apprehension from Nik'tia. Realised the strain she must be under; this was, after all, leading her quite figuratively into the lion's den...into the midst of security forces who might well have been looking for her.

He slipped over next to her as they followed the man down the hall. [I will not let them take you,] he murmured to his love.

Nik'tia listens as The Trianii Master nodded to Satryna Nova. [We will go with you. But we have urrgent business with the Senate.]

Nik'tia thinks to herself, that if the situation wasnt so serious...it would be funny. She was never quite this nervious before..even in odds this bad...but that was before...when she was willing to do literally anything to survive.

She just hopped it wouldnt come down to it...or that anyone would call her bluff. She would not risk Sanomar or Satryna.

She was so deep in thought, she suddenly realized Sanomar was walking next to her. Keeping her cloak well closed, she looked up at him. He slipped over next to her as they followed the man down the hall. [I will not let them take you..]

She smiled, as she nodded slightly."Dont worry about me." she replied softly.."Do what needs to be done."

She droped her head back down, and followed silenty. She wondered where this would leave.

Satryna Nova followed first. She did not sense any duplicity from the guard, but she was ready for any surprises. The guard led them through a few corridors and then they stopped at a nondescript door. The guard knocked in sequence on the door before opening it and then standing at attention.
Satryna searched with the force and felt two lifeorms withinn it, one she recognized and the other she did not, but they wee both non-hostile. With a smile, she turned to Master Sanomar and Nik'tia.

"It's safe..." She said looking at her Master, then her eyes shifted to Nik'tia. "....no traps." She added reasuringly.

Satryna led them inside the room which was small and sparsely furnished. Satryna saw a tale human male next to a very familiar bothan female.

"Hello Fiona..." She said with genuine gladness."...interesting place you got here."

Janus followed the progress of the two Jedi and their companion on the monitor as they were being led by their escort.

"Let's meet them in the next room..."

Janus got up and flipped a switch on the control board. A hidden panel moved and revealed an adjacent room next to the control room. He gestured politely for Fiona to go in. "After you." He smiled sheepishly at her.

The adjacent room was sparsely furnished and provided a more neutral setting for their meeting with the jedi.

"Not to worry...it's a secure environment." Janus said to Fiona as he followed her in and prepared to meet with the jedi.

    Senator Caslon Von Straub

"With all due respect Senator Abriel, this situation would not exist if not for those within your goverment who do not recognize said treaty, and have taken it upon themselves do indulge their whims...which brings me to my next point."

Taking his calculating eyes off Senator Abriel, the Almanian addressed the general audience of senators.

"I'd like to know for the record, whence did the news of the attack upon Naboo originate, and has there been any reliable second party comfirmation of it. Too many times have we convened for wild goose chases disguised as Crisis."

It was not unlike Senator Von Straub to ask such a question. He always required comfirmed facts before he gave his full support to any cause...Almanian History had made it so. Almania would never forget the atrocities commited by Kueller upon it's people. To this end, the current Je'har had become alot more cautious in the way it dealt with political matters. So He was not being disrespectful, just cautious.

Nik'tia noticed it with some interest. <<Something else is going on here..>> she thought to herself.

Nick didnt know if that made her feel better or not. But she was going to play the part, reguardless. She pulled her cloak around her closely, as she followed.

Satryna led them inside the room which was small and sparsely furnished. There was a tall human male next to a very familiar bothan female. <<Frack!...>>

Nik'tia kept her head down, and hoped the bothan would not notice her or say anything. She willed herself to be still, and to control her breathing. She suddenly felt as if the room had grown smaller. She frowned..and closed her eyes slightly, concentraiting on what was being said.

"Hello Fiona..." Satryna said with genuine gladness."...interesting place you got here."

    Nik'tia just nodded silently.

A third person stepped through the door. Whoever it was was shrouded within a robe, and hung behind the other two. They offered no greeting, but simply nodded as they entered the room.

Fiona grinned and walked over to the two Jedi. "Thank goodness, am I EVER glad to see YOU two again! I know Senator Morwer will be glad to here of it also." she said smiling.

She thought it strange, that the other person said nothing..but whomever it was, was travelling with two Jedi who she had come to trust. She would not worry about it.

She turned and looked toward Master Sanomar.

"Things are not going well..." Fiona said.

"I'd like to know for the record, whence did the news of the attack upon Naboo originate, and has there been any reliable second party comfirmation of it. Too many times have we convened for wild goose chases disguised as Crisis." said Von Straub.

This was interesting, Abriel thought to himself. Was Almania finally putting itself firmly in Skywalker's camp? His intelligence sources would clearly need to be updated.

"And too many times the inability of the Senate to move upon a matter quickly has led to untold suffering, whether it was under the Old Republic or the New," said Abriel, modulating his voice to a tone of sadness. "The last time there was an invasion of Naboo, it was the heroism of two Jedi that forestalled the death of thousands of innocents...not the Senate."
Which was perhaps bending the truth a little, but that was nothing out of Abriel's abilities.
"As it is...first word of the attack came from our own intelligence services. The Homeworlds are not in the habit of advising of weaknesses in our own government. Particularly not to a body that, in the not-too-distant past, was an enemy. The information is reliable."

"Thank goodness, am I EVER glad to see YOU two again! I know Senator Morwer will be glad to here of it also."
[And my grreetings again to you, Fiona,] said Sanomar. The Trianii glanced around the room. He almost did not need the Bothan's words to know there was trouble; the emotional churning of the young aide made it clear. He looked across at the second man, remembering his sense in the Force from the Chasuble Aqueduct--the one Satryna had gone to deal with, before...Nystas.

"Things are not going well..." Fiona said.
She turned and looked at Janus to continue.

So, thought Sanomar wryly, not merely another innocent. Who was this man to find his way to the Aqueduct, and now be here, monitoring what appeared to be the Senate in the midst of the meeting?

"The information is reliabe." Senator Abriel assured.

Senator Caslon Von Straub nodded towards Senator Abriel, conceding the point.

"In that case, I must vocalize that we are sworn to aid the Naboo in their hour of need and we must act swiftly...Is there anyone present who wishes to state any possible reason why Senator Abriel's request should not be granted?"

"Things are not going well....." Fiona said and then looked at Janus.

Janus picked up his cue and interjected smoothly.

"I am Janus Blackmoon... a member of the NRI."

Janus was serious, but collected. He glanced over between the two Jedi to better see who was the third person in their party. If he recognized what he saw, he gave no indication of it. He focused his attention on the two Jedi and spoke quickly and clearly.

"Though this entire distric is under terrorist alert, this situation now has top priority."

Janus activated a holo-projector which showed all the senators and the Chancellor engaged in debate. He gestured towards it, and turned up the volume just enough for the jedi to hear clearly.

"In that case, I must vocalize that we are sworn to aid the Naboo in their hour of need and we must act swiftly...Is there anyone present who wishes to state any possible reason why Senator Abriel's request should not be granted?"

It was Senator Von Straub speaking to the other delegates.

"Naboo is currently under attack by a rouge Imperial fleet, the Imperial representative, Senator Abriel, whishes for the senate to disolve the Talinost treaty, which prevents Imperial ships from entering New Republic space in order for a sanctioned Imperial forces to 'save' Naboo from it's captors."

Janus paused for one second, a determined look in his eyes.

"Too neat not to be suspect." He said in reference to the Imperials. "Senator Skywalker needs your right now...before it is too late."

Janus looked at the jedi and listened to what was being said amongst the senators as he waited for their response.

"I am Janus Blackmoon... a member of the NRI."

Nik'tia's ears perked up when she heard him say NRI. She slowly flexed her arms under her robes. She had never run into any of their agents, but she had heard of them. There was truly much going on, than she originally thought...and right now, she wished she was ANYWHERE else but in this room.

She saw Janus glance over in her general direction, before he focused his attention on the two Jedi.

"Though this entire distric is under terrorist alert, this situation now has top priority."

Janus activated a holo-projector which showed all the senators and the Chancellor engaged in debate.

"Senator Skywalker needs your right now...before it is too late." Janus replied.

Nik'tia wondered just what did he think the Jedi could do? This entire ordeal did not feel right, and she had the distinct feeling that she and the other assassins had been used....to help stage this little...whatever it was.

Nik'tia was tired of standing. She was cold, and and feeling sore. She moved to one of the other chairs and carefully sat down, being very careful not to expose anything. She closed her eyes. They did not need her right now. She could do nothing. Affairs of state, and senators talks were not things she normally delt with.

It was a cover up, to be sure. She listened closely to the voices that came thru the monitors...seeing if any sounded familiar.

    =-=--=--

    Fiona

Fiona listened as Janus spoke with the Jedi. Movement caught her eye, and she noticed the other cloaked person, moving to take a seat. Still, not a sound came from them.

Jaus was now talking to the Jedi again.
"Too neat not to be suspect." He said in reference to the Imperials. "Senator Skywalker needs your right now...before it is too late."

Fiona looked to the two Jedi. She wondered what they could do. While she was glad to see these two back, she noted, that they still had not seen any other Jedi leave the temple, either.

Fiona had a feeling that there was more than they were telling so far. And the Chancellor...why in the WORLD would he call a meeting, at such an a bad time? And how did Senator Abriel know of an attack on Naboo's homeworld...when the Senator from that planet, did not? And to just happen to have a army all dressed up and ready to go?

No...there was more here. Fiona listened carefully.

Janus looked at the jedi and listened to what was being said amongst the senators as he waited for their response.

"How long does it take to get to Naboo in a fighter?...or at least close enought to launch a probe?" Fiona asked softly.

For a long moment the wrenching conflict gripped him. He might call a halt to the meeting somehow, but...what if the invasion were really going ahead? Would they not be dooming thousands of Naboo's inhabitants without quick military support? The balance teetered inside him.

He finally took a deep breath and looked at Janus. [You must interrupt the meeting. Janus almost smiled at the Trianii's ingenuity.

"...damn terrosists! trying to interfere with communications in this sector..." Janus said in a half-mocking tone and then spoke quickly and quietly into his commlink. He returned his attention to the Jedi, his face was quite serious.

"There will be a short communications disruption of certain frequencies in this sector, it will not last for very long so you don't have much time, however....."

Janus looked directly into Master Sanomar's eyes.

"Only the two of you Jedi will go and see the Chancellor accompanied by two escorts, to ensure that you reach your destination."

Janus looked over to the seated figure wrapped in a cloak and then back at Master Sanomar.

"...your unidentified friend there does not have clearance and will not be permitted near the Chancellor's suite."

Before he could be interrupted, Janus put up a hand before Master Sanomar could object.

"We need to trust each other on this one. Too much depends on your next choice and thousands may suffer the consequences if you choose wrong....and please, no mind tricks. We are being monitored and any such tricks will make things very bad for everyone involved. I shall see to it, that your friend remain safe until your return...what will it be Master Jedi?"

Janus kept eye contact with the Jedi Master. He inwardly detested putting the jedi in such a position, especially if what he'd learned in the last 20 minutes from intell was remotely correct; But he had a job to do and his personal feelings were just that...personal, and he could not allow them to interfere with his work.

Satryna Nova silently agreed with the plan to disrupt local communication frequencies in order to buy time. It was no surprise to her that Master Sanomar would suggest such a clever tactic..after all he did possess the rank of a Jedi Master.
She was about to say something when she sensed an emotional change in the man called Janus Blackmoon. It was the feeling she often associated with beings that were about to take a big risk...such a feeling was felt quite often here in Coruscant.
Satryna's eyebrows involuntarily raised themselves when she heard Janus clearing only the two of them to see the Chancellor.
The NRI agent was taking no chances with Nik'tia...she suddenly wondered if he knew or suspected something...or maybe the fact that they had failed to introduce their third companion immediately raised a flag.
Satryna looked quickly at Fiona and she seemed almost surprised.
Janus went on to speak of trust and how he would personally see to Nik'tia's well being until Sanomar returned.
Satryna did not particularly like the turn of events, though she sensed no deceit from the man. Too many random factors were involved, but he was right, they had to act now.
Satryna moved next to Master Sanomar and gazed evenly at Janus with half accusing eyes...but she said nothing and waited for Master Sanomar to make the fateful decision.

    Sanomar

The Trianii nodded slowly, feeling the wave of emotions from Nik'tia, even if he had never developed the fine distinction to fully read thoughts. He bent to her side and whispered in her ear. [I love you,] he said.

Sanomar straightened, and looked over at Fiona, Janus, and Satryna Nova. [Verry well. Satrryna, come with me. Janus--a distrraction, as soon as you can. I am trrusting you, agent. I hope you arre worrthy of it.]

He turned and moved from the room, looking for the way towards the Chancellor's suite.

    Abriel

The Representative to the Empire pushed down the smile he felt rising within him as the silence in the chamber stretched out for long moments following Von Straub's request. A complication that the Republic would be involved in the rescue fleet, but one that could be resolved fairly simply.

He looked around, gauging the mood of the Senators, and turned to the Chancellor. "Your Grace...the time has come, I think, for a vote to be taken."

OOC: Welcome to my world, RockDragon.

Jahanara set her jaw as she looked around the room. No one was helping her. 'Well then, I'll just have to help myself. Nothing new.' She thought to herself.

"Chancellor." She began. "It is Our wish that Republic ships be sent to sort this out, not Imperial." She looked around the room and saw several other Senators nodding. "Since it is the Empire that got Us into this, how do we trust them to get Us out? Send Republic ships." Many Senators were nodding in agreement and whispering to their colleagues. Numerous Senators spoke out in support of her.

The Chancellor watched the interactions and waited until it quieted down. "We will have a vote. Should Republic ships be sent, Imperial, or both?"

Janus nodded solemnly at both Jedi.

"We shall trust each other in this..." he said, and then a slight hint of emotion crept into his voice.

"I'm sorry about the Jedi....may the Force be with you." Having said that, the doors opened and two guards stood at attention waiting to escort the Jedi to the Chancellor's suite, and quite simultaneously, the lights flickered slightly and all of the screens outside the room went blank. Communications were effectively disrupted.

"That's your distraction..now Go!" Janus said of them.

    *********************************************

Satryna felt the Force moving in a strange way, many things were happening, and something big was happening as well. She closed her eyes and cleared her mind of clutter. She looked at each person in the room before departing with master Sanomar. She noded to all of them and exited. They all had to trust each other and the force if they were to overcome this day.

    *********************************************

Senator Caslon Von Straub was about to cast his vote, when the holo-images flickered and then winked out from existance. he frowned in slight confusion, and as if to answer his question, his assistant informed him that communications had been disrupted.

"Then see what you can do to re-establish it." He commanded.

Senator Von Straub raised a lone eye brow and walked to a view port. He looked down at the City-planet and thought deeply as to what significance this could have and the ramifications thereof.

    Nik'tia & Fiona

The Trianii nodded slowly, feeling the wave of emotions from Nik'tia, even if he had never developed the fine distinction to fully read thoughts. He bent to her side and whispered in her ear. [I love you,] he said.

Nik'tia's heart fluttered, and she was very glad none could see her face right now, as she felt the heat creap into her face. She did not want him to leave..but she would not keep him.

Janus nodded solemnly at both Jedi.

"We shall trust each other in this..." he said. Fiona nodded.

Nick thought to herself, that he better be of his word. She would not want to have to 'react' to anything he might decided to do.

Janus continued, a slight hint of emotion creeping into his voice.

Satryna closed her eyes. Then she opened them and looked at each person in the room before departing with master Sanomar. She noded to all of them and exited.

As the two Jedi left, Nik'tia could relax for abit. She leaned against the wall. She was still cold, and she wished that she could go to sleep, if only for a little bit. But, she knew she could not...not now. Something still knawed at her subconscious... as if she was missing something. She dropped her head.

Fiona nodded to Satryna and watched them go. She wished she could help them, but they would probably do better on their own.

As the two Jedi left, Fiona noticed the other one left behind had leaned against the wall, and was shaking slightly.

Fiona wondered if what had happened in the temple caused a change. As she thought, she walked over, and made a pot of hot caffa. She handed Janus a cup.

"Dont get any ideas about trying to make me a secretary..or you'll be wearing the stuff.." she growled playfully at him.

Fiona thre poured two other cups. She carefully walked over, and stood near Nik'tia.

"Would..you like a cup?" Fiona asked her cautiously.

Nick nodded. "Thanks." She replied quietly. Her gloved hands took the cup from the Bothan.

As Nik'tia sniffed the contents of the cup, she allowed the heat to warm up her hands. It felt and smelled good, so she took a careful sip.

As Nik'tia took the cup from Fiona, Fiona walked back over to Janus.

"I feel so helpless....I wish there was something more we could do." she told him quietly, as they sat watching the monitors.

Nik'tia thought quietly over her cup of caffa.

    Abriel

Abriel flicked his gaze around the assemblage. True, there were Senators agreeing with Skywalker, but many others who had regarded her statement with just the look he had hoped for: disdain for her apparent desire to exclude the Homeworlds from solving a problem they had created...which was fundamental to many species' psychology.

Then the assemblage flickered, the voices muffled, and finally winked out, replaced by a single pause symbol on Abriel's emitter.

    No.
Abriel fought down the anger, and turned away from the Chancellor, who seemed as surprised as he was.
Thumbed on his comlink to the bodyguards stalking the halls outside. "Falcon status," he murmured.

If there was some trickery here, it would not enter this suite. The guards would be on the alert for any attempt to reach the Chancellor.

    Sanomar

The Trianii glanced at their escort, and shook his head, hiding a smile.

He and Satryna quickly moved up the corridors, about fifty metres from the Chancellor's suite...

Sanomar felt it first. A stirring in the Force. [Move!] he roared as the first blaster bolt echoed from down the intersection of a corridor. He ducked, trying to pull his escort down, but the bolt caught the man squarely beneath the arm, and he fell with a harsh cry to the ground.

Sanomar went for his saber, his apprehension rising as he contemplated trying to deflect blaster bolts in a hospital corridor filled with injured beings.

Jabus gave an amused smile at Fiona's comment about being a secretary, but before he could respond, his eyes went wide in disbelief. The monitor's inside the room were operational, yes, but he could not communicate with those outside the room for a few minutes. He made a fist and clenched his jaw as he saw one of his men take a blaster bolt and go down. "Damn you Abriel!" he spat furiously under his breath, and then another sight caused him to gape in wonder...it was the Jedi.

    ***********************************************

Satryna Nova sensed the danger before it happened. She saw the bolt take down one of the escorts and she immediately went into battle mode. Satryna had honestly had enough of it all, she allowed a measure of anger to flow into her, she controlled this wave of agressive energy, not allowing it to overwhelm her, but to lend her strength.
Satryna called on the force in its myriad forms to aid her, their attackers would learn why the Jedi were awe inspiring beings. Satryna not only increased her reflexes, but she also used Force speed to rush at one of those attacking them. As she went forth, she used the force to disarm one attacker, ingnited her lightsaber in time to deflect a blaster bolt and aimed it at the attackers firing arm, and just as she reached their position, she cut a third attackers weapon in half. Satryna did not give into the battle-lust, but quickly took stock of the situation and was ready to 'neutralize' any other threat. The Jedi would see the Chancellor; They would not be deterred, they would not be stopped...not to mention she was far too battle ready to be taken by surprise. These attackers should be fortunate that it was her, and not Master Sanomar who decided to take the offensive.
