    Fiona & Nick

    Fiona stood next to Janus.

"I feel so helpless....I wish there was something more we could do." she had told him quietly, as they sat watching the monitors.

Nik'tia was thinking quietly over her cup of caffa.

Jabus gave an amused smile at Fiona's comment about being a secretary, but before he could respond, his eyes went wide in disbelief. The monitor's inside the room were operational, yes, but he could not communicate with those outside the room for a few minutes. He made a fist and clenched his jaw as he saw one of his men take a blaster bolt and go down.

Fiona's eyes were going wide. "Where are the Chancellor's guards?" she asked.

Nick's head shot up, to look at the monitor the other two were staring at.

"Damn you Abriel!" he spat furiously under his breath, and then another sight caused him to gape in wonder...it was the Jedi.

If Fiona was impressed before, from when she had seen the two Jedi fight before, she was even more so. She lost track of Satryna, as she moved, taking out their attackers. Fiona watched the intense action taking place. "Cant we help them?" she asked Janus softly.

Nick saw Sanomar as he ducked, trying to pull his escort down. The unfortunate man was stuck by the shot.

Sanomar went for his saber, and Nik'tia saw the slight hesitation. She then saw Satryna Nova go into action. She was moving so fast, Nik'tia could barely keep up with her movements. Satryna not only increased her reflexes, but she also used Force speed to rush at one of those attacking them. As she went forth, she used the force to disarm one attacker, ingnited her lightsaber in time to deflect a blaster bolt and aimed it at the attackers firing arm, and just as she reached their position, she cut a third attackers weapon in half.

Nik'tia allowed herself a small smile. She was glad she never had met up with Sanomar's Padawan before. She would have been an worthy adversary.

Nick watched the other two watching the screen. It would be SOOOO easy to get away now..while the 'disruption' was still going on. Nik'tia shook her head, huffing softly. She finsihed off her warm drink.

She would behave herself..for now. She had promised the Jedi that she would. She watched the screens in silence.

<Be safe!> she thought towards the monitors.

    Sanomar

The Trianii got to his feet, noting the other assailants readying weapons, and sadly concluded there was nothing else he could do.

He hurled the lit saber, catching it in the grip of the Force, guiding it with precision until it cut the three armour-clad men down with strangled cries. Sanomar called the saber back to him, deactivating it as he jogged over to his old Padawan, nodding in approval at her actions; there was little else that could have been done.

The rising flood of emotions made him turn; there were casualties in this corridor, looking with some apprehension at the two beings who had suddenly wreaked such havoc. Sanomar gently called on the Force, letting its power rippled outward with his words. [All is well,] he said to the patients. [You will not be harrmed.]

He moved over to Satryna, standing by one of the bodies of the assailants. [You still move fast, my old Padawan,] he rumbled with a toothy grin, and crouched by the side of the corpse.

The body armour, a full set including helmet, greaves, and leggings set off an uneasy feeling within him. Not, as he had first expected, the black plasteel of Abriel's Protection Regiment. Something about the armour, tantalising his memory like a shark cruising beneath the waters...

He caught a glimpse of an insignia on the shoulder, and the pieces locked together.

    A Mandalorian insignia.

He pulled the helmet off the corpse to behold a face every Jedi had seen in the course of his history lessons. And now that he noticed it, a strange emanation in the Force issuing from this corpse and the others seemed to indicate the face under those masks would be the same.

He rose to his feet and stared at Satryna Nova, utterly at a loss.
"Who were they?" said their second escort, trying to look in every direction at once, walking up to them.
[They arre ghosts,] said Sanomar, glancing down at the face again.

    The face of Jango/Boba Fett.

Satryna Nova heard the sound of an ignited lightsaber sailing thru the air as it spun like a discus...buzzing as it went along.
It struck down the remaining aggressors and then returned to it's master's hand.
Satryna Nova inwardly admired her Master's control...such a maneuver within such a confining space bespoke of Sanomar's skill both with a lightsaber and in the force.
Satryna shook her head slightly at the sight of those cut down by the master Jedi's lightsaber, what was so important that these men would risk their lives and cause them to attack a Jedi, she wondered. At that moment Master Sanomar was already by her side and he knelt to look at one of the fallen. Satryna's eyes went wide when the face beneath the protective helmet was revealed.

"By the Force..." Satryna could not help but exclaim. She exchanged glances with her Master, something sinister was definately happening. How could this be...? she wondered; Satryna immediately spoke to their remaining escort.

"Can you override the locking mechanism?" She inquired of the door leading to the Chancellor's suite. The escort noded and went to work at once. Satryna did consider using her lightsabers to do the deed, but there had been enough show of force displayed already, besides, the Med-Center was a place of healing and not a battle ground.

The escort managed to get the door to the Chancellor's Suite open and stepped aside to allow the jedi entry and also remained outside to guard the door should any more hostiles show up.
As Satryna and Sanomar were about to enter into the suite, the lights flickered anew as some systems came back on line. Communication was not fully restored, but at least the comm within the Med center seemed to be back online. A medical team was soon at the scene taking care of those who'd fallen in the wake of the jedi and so were a contingent of security officers.

    *********************************************

Janus was amazed. He'd never seen jedi in action, though he'd heard plenty stories and he was amongst those who were skeptical when it came to Jedi heroics...well, he was now counted amongst those who believed.
Janus payed close attention to the goings-on outside of the Chancellor's suite and was relieved when the Jedi quickly dispatched their assailants.

"Arrest those men and procure the fallen and wonded." Janus spoke into his comm and then slowly walked towards Nik'tia, the lights flickered and some of the monitors screen came back to life, but not all of them.

Janus came to a halt at a 'safe ' distance from Nick.

"If you are who I think you are, we need to talk...I may need someone of your skills." Janus waved for Fiona to join him since he'd probably need her diplomatic knowledge on this.

    *********************************************

Senator Caslon Von Straub felt his patience erroding. He was a patient man, but this waiting around was not to his liking, especially given the sensitivity of the situation facing the assembled members of the senate.

"Sir, we have restored communication with the med-center sector, but are as yet unable to contact the med-center proper or any of the other senators." Von Straub's assistant announced.

"Keep trying..." instructed the Senator who dismissed his assistant with a wave of a hand and without turning away from the viewport.
He worried for Naboo and for Senator Skywalker, though he also felt a sense of foreboding concerning the New Republic in general. His mind began to fill with suspicious thoughts...these occurences were not a coincidental.

    Fiona and Nick

Fiona was standing next to Janus as she watched the Jedi dispatch the other assailants.

Fiona gave him a small grin. "I TOLD you...those two are something.." She spoke softly.

Fiona saw the Jedi master hurl the lit saber, guiding it with precision until it cut the three armour-clad men down, and then called the saber back to him, deactivating it as he jogged over to his old Padawan.

Nick saw the fight, and smiled in satisfaction. It was an intersting move. Especially in such a small confined area. She wondered if any more of those men would be inside the Chancellors room...probably.

Fiona saw the Jedi pull off the helmet from one of a corpse. It did not register anything with her, but then she heard Sanomar repond to the guards question.

[They arre ghosts,] Sanomar had said, while glancing down at the face again.

Fiona's fur stood on end, when she saw Satryna's eyes go wide when the face beneath the protective helmet was revealed.

    "By the Force...", Satryna exclaimed.

Fiona looked at Janus. "When they get nervious...it's means stuff is about to get strange." She frowned looking at the monitor. She pulled her datapad, and started running a check on some info.

"Arrest those men and procure the fallen and wonded." Janus spoke into his comm and then slowly walked towards Nik'tia, the lights flickered and some of the monitors screen came back to life, but not all of them.

Nick saw Janus come in her direction. She willed herself to stay still, and waited to see what the man would do. She grinned mentally, when she saw him stop..at what he probably considered a 'safe' distance from her. So..this man was not an idiot. A good thing to remember. She kept her head down..looking at the cup in her hands.

"If you are who I think you are, we need to talk...I may need someone of your skills." Janus waved for Fiona to join him.

Nik'tia's eyes narrowed. <What does he mean he may need someone of MY skills?> Her training kicked in..and she went into alert mode. Did he really know..or was guessing? He seemed to have his finger on every monitor in the place..what would he need HER skills for? She silenced the questions in her head, focusing her attention soley on the human in front of her. Nick, was in charge.

    "Talk."

Meanwhile, Fiona's head had shot up, when she heard Janus tell the robed figure.."If you are who I think you are...." She then saw Janus waving for her to come over.

Fiona quietly picked up her datapad and walked over, quietly mulling several questions in her head.

Fiona waited to see what Janus had in mind.

    Sanomar and Abriel

The Chancellor looked up as the doors to the suite hissed open. Abriel's hand slipped to the sash of his Senatorial robes, a few scant inches from the two concealed holdout blasters holstered there. He kept his face neutral as two robed figures strode into the room.

Jedi. The larger of them was one of the Trianii species, and seemed the elder. Abriel took in the other's appearance--Iridonian female. These two must have been the ones from the Temple.

[Grreetings, Chancellorr,] rumbled Sanomar with a polite bow. [I apologise forr the intrrusion. I am Jedi Master Sanomar, and this is Jedi Knight Satryna Nova.]
"What causes the Jedi to interfere with the deliberations of the Senate?" snapped Abriel before the Chancellor could speak.
Sanomar glanced at the Representative to the Empire. [As farr as I can see, Representative Malkessar, the Senate is not in deliberation at this time.]
Abriel felt the hairs rise in irritation on the back of his head. "That will be corrected shortly, Master Jedi. In what capacity--"
[Chancellorr,] said Sanomar again, cutting Abriel off, [I rrealise the Senate is in a state of crrisis following the bombing this morrning, but therre arre additional matters at stake. The Jedi on Corruscant have been murrderred.]
"What?" The Chancellor's voice was a shocked whisper.
[Nystas Charron has betrrayed us to the Darrk Side. We have just come frrom battling him in the Jedi Temple. The bodies of all ourr brethrren arre in one of the lower hangars, where he trraped them.]
Abriel fought down his elation. All the Jedi on Coruscant? Murdered by their own Head of Council?
Sanomar felt the ripple of emotion from the Representative to the Empire, and nodded to himself. He addressed himself to the Chancellor again. [Therre is morre. Charron was possessed by some spirit of the Darrk Side. We do not know if it be Sith Lord orr some otherr creaturre, but this much was made clearr...it will rreturrn. Possibly with otherrs. This thrreat superrsedes any the Senate faces. No decision on the issue of Naboo should be made until the Jedi Council is rre-established.]
The Chancellor nodded gravely, his eyes still wide with the shock. Abriel started to make a remark, then subsided. This was a new factor in the equation.

The Chancellor glanced over at Satryna Nova. "And you, Knight Nova? Have you anything to add?"

Sanomar threw a look and a thought at his old Padawan. Carefully here, old friend, he pulsed to her. I do not think Abriel had anything to do with our brothers' deaths.

It was providence that Master Sanomar had spoken to Satryna before she responded to the Chancellor. That alone gave Satryna enough clarity of mind to contain the sudden flare of anger that assailed her soul when she felt Senator Abriel's elation at the mention of the murdered Jedi.
The fact that anyone here should find joy at the fact that Jedi were slaughtered was garanteed to cause a most negative reaction in Satryna Nova at this time, and Master Sanomar was sage enough not only to have forseen it, but to intervene with words of reason, words that he knew would keep Satryna's reaction in check.

"No Chancellor, I believe Master Sanomar speaks for both of us concerning this matter."

Satryna's manner was that of a dignified Jedi Knight, ready to serve in the cause of justice. She forced herself not to look at Senator Abriel at first, then when she was sure her anger was purged from her system, she noded at the Imperial representative as acknowledgement of his presence...the way a true Jedi would.

    **********************************************

Janus regarded Nik'tia for a moment, and silently contemplated his words. He sighed and shook his head slightly before begining.

""There comes a time when we have to make a chice and decide what we are fighting for...what side we are on. The galaxy is continually filled with never ending conflict and there are those who are relentless in their lust to subvert all good things and twist them to their own end."

Janus looked meaningfully at Nick, but did not come any closer.

""Look, according to my files, you could have killed me and Fiona and left this place without anyone being the wiser...but you have not, that tells me something. It does not mean that you've grown soft, having a conscience is what keeps us from becoming monsters. From what I know, a jedi was sent to apprehend you and Lo and behold, you are here with two Jedi..."

The lights flickered again as communication was restored completely. Janus moved back to his desk as he continued to speak to Nik'tia.

"If you really wanted to destroy the senate building, I bet you could have...I also bet something went wrong somewhere, otherwise the Jedi would not be so protective of you. If they trust you...well, let's say nothing is impossible and I think we can work something out...please excuse me."

Janus sat down and immediately got on his comm, asking for status reports and issuing orders according to each individual situation. He lifted his head and checked the monitor showing the Chancellor's suite.

    *********************************************

Aboard his orbiting ship, Senator Von Straub received word that communication with Med-center had been re-established and his technicians were currently working on contacting the Chancellor and the other Senators. Von Straub was somewhat relieved at small measure of success. The reports he received from the med-center did not indicate any significant casualties during the brief communication's black out, howver, he was feeling just a bit anxious and considered going planetside, but decided against it. He would be patient and wait until communication with the Senate members was fully restored, If this was a terrorist attempt at sabotage, then he'd be best for him to remain in orbit, all things considered.

    Nick & Fiona

Janus regarded Nik'tia for a moment, and then he sighed and shook his head slightly.

Nick was aware when Fiona came closer. She looked suprised by the turn of events.

Nick focused back on the man in front of her.

"There comes a time when we have to make a chice and decide what we are fighting for...what side we are on. The galaxy is continually filled with never ending conflict and there are those who are relentless in their lust to subvert all good things and twist them to their own end."

    Nik'tia just nodded.

Janus looked meaningfully at Nick, but did not come any closer.

"Look, according to my files, you could have killed me and Fiona and left this place without anyone being the wiser...but you have not, that tells me something. It does not mean that you've grown soft, having a conscience is what keeps us from becoming monsters. From what I know, a Jedi was sent to apprehend you and Lo and behold, you are here with two Jedi..."

<<So...he knows...or think he does..interesting..>> Nick looked up at Fiona..who seemed to be listening to the conversation with interest. She walked over, and handed Nik'tia another mug of the warm drink. This time, she stood closer.

Nik'tia looked up slightly, and nodded.

    <<...Work something out??>>

Nicks mind was working furiously. <So...either he is guessing...or he has evidence that could get me burried in this planet for all eternity. So, the question is...what does he want from me?>

She watched as Janus sat down and immediately got on his comm, asking for status reports and issuing orders according to each individual situation. He lifted his head and checked the monitor showing the Chancellor's suite.

Nick finished the warm drink Fiona had handed her. It made her feel much better. And sitting down, gave her a chance to rest that she sorely needed.

Handing Fiona back the cup, she slowly stood up, and walked towards Janus's desk. She stopped a ways back from his desk.

"Did you ever think your files might be wrong." she asked quietly.

Nick stared at one of the monitors near her.
    She sighed deeply.

"What is it, you want?" Nick asked.

Fiona stood on the other side of Nick, still in shock about the current turn of events. She wondered what Janus had in mind.

    Sanomar and Abriel

The Master sighed deeply to himself. His student had passed the last, most crucial test. Now there was only one more piece of business to settle.

The Chancellor nodded slowly, and looked back at the Trianii. "You say the Jedi Council must be reformed. How do you plan to do this?"
Sanomar clasped his paws behind his back. [The firrst matterr is that of an interrim Head of Council...as there is no Council left.]
"You mean to nominate yourself?" said Abriel, fighting down a sneer. "After all, you are perhaps the most senior Jedi Master remaining on Coruscant--or anywhere else for that matter."
Sanomar was silent for a long moment. [No,] he replied finally, and looked across at his old student.

Hoping he had taught her well enough.

[I am sorrry to do this to you, old frriend. In my capacity as senior Jedi now prresent on Corruscant, I name Satryna Nova as interrim Head of the Jedi Council.]

He ignored the ripples of shock from Abriel and the Chancellor, instead trying to identify the sudden surge of emotion from his old student.

Janus looked at Fiona concerning her question regarding the files being wrong, but Nik'tia had already joined them, so he simply looked evenly at her and noded slowly, then he heard the Defel speak.

"What is it you want...? Nick asked.

Janus did not hesitate to answer her.

"...The Truth." He said without duplicity.

In the silence that followed they could clearly hear the words spoken by the Chancellor and Master Sanomar as the mantle of Head of the Jedi Council, fell not to the rightfull successor, Master Sanomar, but he passed on the mantle of the Jedi leadership to his padawan, Satryna Nova.

    *********************************************

It took Master Sanomar a long time to teach his padawan the art of controling one's emotions, or better yet, the art of seeming calm and in control when one's emotions threatened not to be.
It was these advanced techniques that allowed Satryna Nova not to show her complete shock to anyone present within the Chancellor's Suite, with the exception of Master Sanomar who no doubt felt her reaction in the force. Satryna's face was calm though she was completely flabbergasted and fought to bring her incredulity under control. She took a deep breath and drew on the force to bring about a tranquil mind state. Too many thoughts rushed through her mind that needed silencing. Why did Master Sanomar turn down a position that would rightfully be his, she could not think of a more suitable Jedi to be the Head of the Jedi Council...but in the end, Satryna Nova trusted her Master above all, and within herself, she knew that whatever his reasons, they were just.
In the absence of another candidate and the glaring need for such leadership, Satryna decided to bravely accept the challenge put forth to her by the Force, for only the Force could make such things possible. Her personal feelings were secondary to those who needed the jedi, and that need was most immediate.

Satryna knelt before Master Sanomar and The Chancellor.

"I am deeply honored and I humbly accept this most noble responsability placed before me, for there is no deeper fulfillment in the Force, than to serve the Republic as Head of the Jedi Council during this time of crisis and until a more suitable representative is found."

Satryna remained in kneeling position, already searching the force for guidance and dispelling all fears, reservations and all manner of impediment. She resolved to fully and humbly commit herself to the crucial role she must now carry out. There was no time for preparation or rehersal, there was only now.
    Time to choose and act.

    ********************************************

Senator Von Straub's holo-transmitter began to beep, quite suddenly coming alive as if waking from electronic slumber.
It's visual field pulsed twice and then came to life, and a 'hold' message was displayed, accented by the senatorial sigil. He felt himself relax in response and was relieved that soon the Chancellor and the rest of the senate would be reconnected, inspite of the somewhat annoying hold message. The Almanian Senator returned to his place and composed himself in preparation for reconnection to the Senatorial assembly...He made a mental note to raise the subject of increasing anti-terrosist measures.

After the shock of what was heard in the Chancellors room wore off, in the silence that followed, Nik'tia slowly laughed. She slowly reached up, and removed her goggles, so that her eyes glowed read from the confines of her robe.

"You want truth?...Thats funny. Thats what I was after. The outcome, is not always what you would expect..."

Nik'tia huffed slightly, and gazed at the one called Janus.

"What information, do you seek the truth about?" she asked him softly, leaning against some furniture.

Fiona had moved up quietly, during the conversation, and moved to the side, so she could still watch the monitors as well.

Fiona started at the monitor. So...Master Sanomar passed up the postition of head of council. She grinned to herself. She had a feeling why. She listened closely to the conversation between Janus and Nick.

If anyone had told her eariler, that events would have went this way, 4 hours ago..she would not have believed them.

    She quietly waited.

    Sanomar and Abriel

The Chancellor straightened in his bed somewhat, pressing a small button at the bedside. Within seconds an aide had stepped into the room.
    "Yes, your Grace?"
"Has the HoloLink difficulty been repaired?"
The aide consulted his comlink. "...yes, sir."
"Good," said the Chancellor. Abruptly a fit of coughing enveloped him, but passed. He drew another breath. "Reconvene the Senate."
"My Lord?" said Abriel, taken by surprise. He did not like the look of sudden resoluteness on the man's face.
    Not at all.
"The Jedi massacred, Senator Abriel. Surely you recall the Constitution of the New Republic?"
Abriel's mind worked frantically, thinking of--No. "Your Grace--"
    Sanomar's heart lifted.
"Under the Durron Protocols," said the Chancellor, "the Jedi and the Republic are not wholly divided. After the ravages of the Empire, and the Yuuzvhan Vong, the New Republic's Constitution was amended. A catastrophic loss of Jedi is within the definition of a Crisis of the Republic. All other things are subordinate to that."
Abriel seemed about to say something, but subsided.
"Even the Talinost Treaty," said the Chancellor as the HoloLink blinked back to life. "We will have no vote, Senator. Your ships will remain in Imperial space for now. The Republic will attend to the matters on Naboo. But the Jedi come first."

As the puzzled looks of the various Senators rippled across the assemblage, the Chancellor turned to Satryna Nova. "I am turning the floor over to you, Master Nova. The resources of the Republic are at your command, within reason, to rebuild the Jedi of Coruscant. What is your proposal?"

Sanomar held his breath, though in his heart he knew he had made the right choice. The title of Master was always given in addressing the head of the Council, generally because the recipient was such a person. Satryna Nova had within her hands the power to call for a general Search for new Jedi candidates, effectively calling into service the resources of the Republic in finding new Force-capable individuals. And that was only the least of her extended powers...at least until those measures were implemented, and the Crisis of the Republic passed.

Sanomar turned his thoughts to Naboo. This crisis aside, something more was stirring out there. He resolved himself to head there, or somehow obtain more information, as soon as he could.

As Janus and Nick talked, Fiona's thoughts turned back towards Senator Morwer.

She felt like a third wheel here. Janus was a big boy. He didnt need her. She felt she could trust the Jedi's friend. She was probably the one who helped them to escape.

She nodded at Janus and left the room. She headed back for Senator Morwer's room.

She wanted to let him know what was going on. Well, at least what little she knew. She moved down the hallway, heading back for the Senator's room.

    Satryna Nova

Satryna bowed to the Chancellor and took note of his sudden surge of vigor. The Jedi tragedy did move him to tap into reserves deep within himself for a just cause and the benefit of all Jedi. Satryna's respect for the Chancellor only deepened.

"Chancellor...I would like to speak with you in private regarding this sensitive issue..." Satryna stated in her most diplomatic manner and then turned to her Master.
"...However, I would like to ask Master Sanomar to be a part of this Jedi Council, I believe his wisdom will be a great asset to our endeavours."

Satryna gestured to her Master and smiled at him. Many thoughts were going thru her mind, many things she wanted to discuss with him and the Chancellor, things no other should be privy to. She wanted to immediately recall all the Jedi who were currently out on missions or assignements. She realized that she could now also 'clear' Nik'tia from any charges brought against her, now that the truth was known to her. Satryna smiled lightly and knowingly at her Master as she awaited his answer. Every Head of state needed help, therefore they had assistants and so forth, The Jedi council was composed of many Masters, and Satryna would be overjoyed if Master Sanomar would accept her proposition, though she was also perfectly willing to accept his decision if he declined.

Janus noticed Fiona slip away from the room while he spoke to the Nick. He wished she'd stay longer, but knew that she probably had other assignments to attend to...including Senator Morwer. Janus thought very highly of Fiona and wondered why she did not possess a higher rank, to him Fiona was one of the most talented and efficient beings he'd ever had the pleasure to work with. Janus watched her go towards Senator Morwer's room on one of his monitors for a moment, promised himself to take Fiona out to lunch and quickly returned his attention to the Defel.

Upon seeing her eyes, Janus knew that this was the same being the files were refering to, and that served as a positive ID. According to the data, Defels would make formidable field agents....Janus made that thinking noise again before speaking.

"I'll need to clear this with my superiors if you agree to this, but I believe the NRI could use someone with your natural skills. This is quite a unique opportunity, having you in this office...and I am certain that with such newly influential friends..." Janus glanced at the Jedi pictured on the monitor. "... I have no doubt that whatever 'troubles' you may have had in the past could be...should we say 'absolved'." Janus opened his arms as a charismatic speaker would and smiled easily at Nick.

"This could be a good thing for all involved..what do you say.?"

He knew it to be a shot in the dark, but sometimes even those hit their intended targets.

Senator Caslon Von Straub was so shocked by the news of the Jedi Massacre that he had to sit. Too many questions came to mind. He quickly recovered however, when the Chancellor appeared to become lively again and had made quick sensible decisions.
He'd called a cease to the procedures till further notice and kept the resolution of the Naboo Crisis within the New Republic's jurisdiction. He was also glad that one of the two Jedi who had suddenly appeared within the Chancellor's Suite was made Head of said Council, however surprising the choice might have been to him.
Senator Von Straub had his assistant ready a letter of condolence and support to be sent to the Head of the Jedi Council as soon as possible. He did wonder how the news affected Senator Skywalker.

Morwer, bored, glanced up as Fiona entered the room. He suddenly brightened. "Ah, there you are! What's been going on? I'm totally lost here!"

Fiona sighed deeply. "Do not feel bad Senator Morwer, you are not the only one."

She locked his door, and sat down near his bed. Before she spoke, she pulled out a small device...that would jam most devices. She knew Janus could get thru if he wanted.

She quickly did her best to fill in the Senator on all that had happened. How after they had left his room, they saw the Chancellor convened a meeting on a vote to let warships cross a treaty boarder into Naboo space. How the two Jedi they had been with eariler, suddenly appeared in the hospital..and reported that all the other known Jedi on Coruscant had been killed. How the Chancelor suddenly vetoed the vote..and declared a state of emergency. How that Empire Senator was NOT HAPPY AT ALL. Senator Skywalker is not dead..but somewhere hidden..they saw her holo...The two Jedi are now acting as the council.

She also told him how it looks like somthing else is going on..and that much more than whatever happened at the Jedi temple..and the attack on Naboo space..could not be one big conincidence.

She saw the look on his face, as she quickly discribed all of the current happenings.

"Im so sorry Senator..but everything happened so fast, I could not get back to you...And now..I have a feeling that we're not out of danger yet."

Fiona shook her head. It had been a furious pace the last few hours..and she was starting to feel it.

"I have a feeling Senator Abriel wont take this quietly..I dont like him. Something about him..is wrong....and I have a feeling a lot more might be going on near Naboo, than what we think...."

She gave the Senator a grin. "And Im with you, if you wish to do any 'investigating' on your own, Senator."

    Nick

"I'll need to clear this with my superiors if you agree to this, but I believe the NRI could use someone with your natural skills. This is quite a unique opportunity, having you in this office...and I am certain that with such newly influential friends..."

Well...at this point, Nik'tia didnt think there could be too much more that could suprise her at the moment.

    She was wrong.

She had her eyes closed..and when the one called Janus offered her..a JOB..working for of all folks NRI..she left out a startled huff.

She looked over when he paused. She saw Janus glance at the Jedi pictured on the monitor. He continued. "... I have no doubt that whatever 'troubles' you may have had in the past could be...should we say 'absolved'." Janus opened his arms as a charismatic speaker would and smiled easily at Nick.

"This could be a good thing for all involved..what do you say.?"

Nik'tia couldnt believe her ears. She looked at the viewscreen at Sanomar.

<<It could be the way....>>she thought to herself.

    She started to laugh.

It was a deep, low throated laugh, that quickly gained volume. She stood quickly, as she caught her breath.

She walked over to stare at the viewscreen which showed the two Jedi.

She was silent for awhile..as she carefully thought over his proposal. It was not a sure thing...he had superiors to deal with...but still...if it offered a chance....And if it did not, she could leave. Maybe...maybe not. But, it would put her in no worse position than she was in now.

As she continued to stare out at the screen, she spoke slowly.

"Your, proposal is interesting." She turned and stared at him deeply.

    "I think....that I would like that."

She pulled herself up to her full height, and walked over slowly to where he stood.

She slowly held out a gloved paw.

Janus managed to check his amazement at the Defel's size and powerful manner behind his thrilled expresion at having Niktia accept his proposal. He shook her gloved paw vigorously.

"I'll get the paper work started" He said as he sat down to begin. He suddenly look at Nick as he seemed to think over a question.

" While you wait for Sanomar to return, what can I get you to make you more...comfortable?" He asked.

    Sanomar and Abriel

The Trianii shook his head slowly in response to Satryna's offer. [I am honourred, old frriend, but my place is not on the Jedi Council. At least, not until this crrisis has been dealt with. Forr my parrt, I mean to head forr Naboo, to see what evil rrises therre.]
"A dangerous course, Master Jedi," said Abriel suddenly. "And with the numbers of the Jedi so depleted, can we afford to risk another in mere reconnaissance?"
[I have considerred that rrisk,] replied Sanomar, pushing down his irritation, attuning himself more fully to the unifying force. Yes. It was there; that crosscurrent he had sensed earlier today. [But I have rreason to suspect therre is morre going on in Naboo space than yourr intelligence operatives have discovered.]
Abriel subsided. "Then at least let me offer my people's services in escort to you, Master Jedi."
[No. A Longstrriderr crraft will be sufficient. And we...have many of those available in the Temple. In the meantime, Senatorr, I believe the Head of the Council has called forr a prrivate audience with the Chancellorr?]
Sanomar held out his hand, beckoning for Abriel to precede him. Seething, the Representative to the Empire marched out of the Chancellor's suite.

Sanomar turned one final time to Satryna. [The Rrepublic is in yourr hands now, my frriend,] said the Trianii quietly. [And do not fear yourr lack of grrey hairr. You arre a Jedi, strrong in the Force. You arre equal to this challenge.] He reached his hands out and grasped Satryna's arm warmly. [Farrewell, my frriend. When I have learrned what transpires on Naboo, I will contact you again.]

The Master bowed to the Chancellor and to his Council Head, and turned and left, heading back towards the office where Janus should be with Nik'tia.

Nik'tia huffed softly at Janus's thrilled expresion at having Nik'tia accept his proposal. He shook her gloved paw vigorously. Once he let go, she leaned against the furniture.

"I'll get the paper work started" He said as he sat down to begin. He suddenly look at Nick as he seemed to think over a question.

"While you wait for Sanomar to return, what can I get you to make you more ....
    comfortable?" He asked.

Nik'tia was watching the monitor. She was watching the reaction to the man Sanomar was talking to.

Sanomar held out his hand, beckoning for Abriel to precede him. Seething, the Representative to the Empire marched out of the Chancellor's suite.

<<A man to watch..to be sure...>> She then remembered that Janus had asked her a question.

She turned to look at him.

"Another...of that warm drink, will do." Nik'tia replied. She then moved to sit closer near the door, as she awaited for Sanomar to return. She thought to herself as she waited. She was glad that Sanomar did not take the high council position.

So....he was heading for Naboo. A chance for them to hunt...together.

    The thought made her smile.

Morwer spread his hands. "As you probably know by now, I'm not much of a leader, despite my position. I can try, if there's no one else more suited to command. Who else do we have willing to work with us?"

Fiona thought for a bit. "Well...Janus will probably help us some...and I think one of the Jedi will be going to check on some things. There might be another...if we can also find any of the other Senators and talk to them."

Fiona thought for a second. "I wonder if Senator Skywalker going to try to go back home? Maybe we can get some others to join us as well."

Fiona looked up. "Perhaps we need to speak to Senator Skywalker first...or others in her deligation. I will leave that to you, Senator. I will try to get ahold of the others."

The Trianii was deep in thought as the door to the office hissed open, but he came out of his reverie long enough to take stock of the scene. He shook his head, hiding a smile. He turned to Janus briefly. [In the meantime, I must deparrt forr Naboo.] He moved across to Nik'tia, lowering his head so his words were for her alone. [Therre is morre behind this,] he murmured. The door to the office hissed open, and Sanomar walked through. Nik'tia relaxed now. She had been watching the monitors, and had moved closer to the door, waiting for his return.

    Sanomar turned to Janus briefly.

As he moved close, Nik'tia looked up silently. She did not want to be left behind. Her fears were eased, as he spoke.

Sanomar moved close to Nik'tia, lowering his head so his words were for her alone.

[Therre is morre behind this,] he murmured. [Will you come with me, my love?]

Nik'tia nodded. "Yes." she responded simply. There was so much more she wanted to ask and say...but this place was not the place for such things. She stood up.

"We leave now?" she asked, looking at him, as if searching for something. She gave a small smile.

    Fiona

As Fiona was talking with Senator Morwer, she started to compile a list of those who she thought might be interested in finding out what was REALLY going on.

    Senator Jahanara Skywalker
    Senator Straub - possible
    Jordan Alinada - Maybe.

Fiona frowned. The name Alinada came up..but little info about the person, except that they were also from Naboo.

    Fiona sighed.

Hmmm..Janus of course...and any off world Jedi perhaps.

She looked up at Senator Morwer. "Do you wish me to try and contact these people for you, Senator?"

Fiona set up a comfidential comlink..so that the Senator to speek freely.

[Indeed,] rumbled the Trianii. He wished he could touch her...but here, now, was not the place.

Sanomar glanced across at Janus Blackmoon and nodded. [We will be deparrting forr the Jedi Academy immediately. I would be grrateful if you could arrange a SkyCab forr us on platform 327.]

He grinned toothily at the NRI operative before turning and escorting Nik'tia from the room, purposefully striding down the corridor. He waited until the two of them were out of sight, then turned their path for one of the quieter sections of the hospital.
He glanced around to see that nobody was in the immediate vicinity, then spoke quietly to the Defel. [My love, while I trrust Janus, I do not think we can be assured about the motives of all those underr his command. Janus Blackmoon sat on his desk and watched as Sanomar spoke easily with the Defel. As an NRI agent, he often witnessed situations that either did not correspond or totally contradicted certain reports, and it was his job to make sense out of nonsense.
What he saw now was not in concordance with his files, which did not mean that his information was necessarily wrong, but perhaps needed updating. Janus knew what kind of man Senator Abriel was, so he had to account for that as well in his plans.

"Master Sanomar, your skycab is waiting on landing platform NED-33-11, but before you go, allow me to leave you with this..."

Janus walked up close to the triiani Jedi master and spoke to him in a very low voice that only he could hear. He shared the codeword and phrase for those who were like himself and were part of an elite network within the system. It was a precaution, incase anything should happen to him while the Jedi was away on his mission and might find himself in need of a 'friend'. He warned the jedi Master to use great discretion with his new knowledge, for many lives depended on it.

"May the Force be with you." Janus said meaningfully, shaking the jedi master's hand before he departed for Naboo. He gave a curt and respectful nod to Niktia, and then went back to his desk, where he could watch as they headed towards the platform where the skycab awaited them. As he did so, Janus clicked on his commlink and contacted his security team to watch Senator Abriel's movements and asked for an update on those being interrogated after being taken down by the Jedi, he then contacted Fiona.

"Janus here...How are things on your end."

    ************************************************

Satryna Nova was not surprised that Master Sanomar declined his appointment to the Jedi Council, it was an honor he more than earned and deserved, but it was his choice to decline. Satryna smiled at her former Master and gave him a farewell hug as he prepared for his trip to Naboo. His mission would be a trying one, but she had no doubts that he would overcome and triumph over them.

"May the Force be with you Master." Satryna said as he departed.

She then turned and faced the Chancellor who sat quite attentively on his bed.

"Thank you for allowing me this audience your grace." Satryna smiled at the Chancellor and courteously declined a chair to sit upon when he offered it, for now she prefered to remain standing and focused.

"As my first official act as Temporary Head of the Jedi Council, I shall immediately recall all available Jedi which are currently afield and those who are able to abort non-critical missions. It is my imperative to recreate a working body of Jedi at once, in order to best serve the Republic and its needs. Once that is accomplished, I will appoint a task Force to investigate this possible invasion by the 'xenoform' Master Sanomar and I encountered and who's probably responsable for the near extinction of the Jedi Order."

Satryna briefly closed her eyes and took a breath as she thought of all the slain Jedi.
Too many Funeral Pyres would be lit this day.

"I would like to share all available knowledge with your Intelligence Bureau so the Republic may be better prepared against such an eventuality...it's not much, but it's better than nothing."

Satryna looked upn the Chancellor and could not help but to wonder how he managed to keep a whole galaxy of squabbling species from self destruction. Though everyone claimed to desire harmoney, it was the least fought for result. Satryna cleared her mind of unecessary musings and focused on her meeting with the Chancellor.

"We leave now?" Nik'tia asked, looking at him, as if searching for something. She gave a small smile.

    [Indeed,] rumbled the Trianii.

Sanomar glanced across at Janus Blackmoon and nodded. [We will be deparrting forr the Jedi Academy immediately. I would be grrateful if you could arrange a SkyCab forr us on platform 327.]

Nik'tia wondered at that statement. <Why go to the academy?> she wondered as she slipped her goggles back over her eyes, checking her clothing. Unless they somehow managed to clear out the rest of ....THAT THINGS...guardsmen.

She stayed silent, wondering if he had something else planed.

"Master Sanomar, your skycab is waiting on landing platform NED-33-11, but before you go, allow me to leave you with this..."

Janus walked up close to the triiani Jedi master and spoke to him in a very low voice that only he could hear.

Nik'tia figgured it was something to do with NRI stuff. She waited until Janus had stepped back from Sanomar before she spoke.

"You will let me know what happens about what we spoke of eariler?" She says quietly.

"May the Force be with you." Janus said meaningfully, shaking the Jedi Master's hand before he departed for Naboo. He gave a curt and respectful nod to Nik'tia.

Nick gives a small nod, and follows Sanomar out of the room.

Sanomar grinned toothily at the NRI operative before turning and escorting Nik'tia from the room, purposefully striding down the corridor. He waited until the two of them were out of sight, then turned their path for one of the quieter sections of the hospital.

She leaned in close to Sanomar. A small grin on her lips.

"I have such a transport. She is hidden on the lower levels." Nik'tia looked at Sanomar's clothing. "You might have to change into something a little less... conspicuous." She grinned. "But they definatelly wont be looking for a Jedi on MY ship....you can be my pilot."

    Nik'tia huffs softly.

"Let us get out of this place. I have been here too long already."

Nik'tia was feeling cold again. She wanted out of the hospital. Away from all the monitors. Away from others eyes. Away from the bright lights.

She shuddered slightly, as she turned, heading for the closest exit.
