Discrimination from one fan to another is fanhood. Nanaki
Besides, the birds can now benefit from the soiled cracker jacks and peanuts on the floor.

Edit: How generous of Dags, enjoy your beer!!

*Uses the Yankee's ridiculous amount of money to purchase Frito-Lay, discontinues Cracker Jacks. Everyone is left with peanuts*

    My spitefulness. Knows. No. Bounds.

With Rogue One a little over a month away, I am so glad we're getting a new Star Wars film every year for the foreseeable future.

    For good or for ill.

My son is requesting another Doctor Strange viewing. I'm sure I will oblige.

And Fantastic Beasts next week. [face_dancing]

I can't wait to see Fantastic Beasts. No idea when though. Chaotic schedule for now until Christmas.

For some reason I can't quite put my finger on I'm more interested in Fantastic Beasts than I was the rest of the Potter films.

For me it's because there's no book to compare it to in that sense.

I grew up a hardcore Potterhead but for whatever reason I wasn't all that excited... until I found out the series was actually about Grindelwald and Dumbledore. That really piqued my interest.

I'm actually looking forward to not really knowing the story going into Fantastic Beasts, also ensures I won't be able to complain about how it differs from the book :)

Well, technically there is a book for Fantastic Beasts.

The Harry Potter books are better than the movies.

From an external standpoint perhaps. But I do personally prefer cinematic expression. I wish I could call myself a big reader, but I'm sadly not

Isn't the FB book just the screenplay? Or did JK novelize it?

This one. Though I do think that there is a screenplay thing like with Cursed Child coming out eventually. Or was supposed to. I don't know.
The Potter books are so good, I can see the scenes in my minds eye. Cinematic enough for me. The movies just can't do the books justice. So much stuff left out or changed.
Peeves, Dobby and Winky, SPEW, The Dursleys, Charlie Weasley, And so on and so forth. You miss out on so much.

Have to wait until tomorrow to see Fantastic Beasts as it's one of the few movies my wife actually wants to go see with me....I hate not seeing movies on opening night.

Without spoiling, how do they compare to the HP movies? As I understand, same director as the last four and some of the same production team. My mom and I were planning to see it soon

Well I'd say it fits very well in the Harry Potter universe, but it's also very different drom the HP movies - in a good way I think. For me it was nice to not be comparing it to a book the whole time, and because it was it's own story I didn't think this felt as rushed as some of the HP movies did trying to cram as much in as they could. This movie is just a lot of fun and I really liked the characters.

I still need to see Doctor Strange and Fantastic Beasts. I'm going to try to catch both when I go back home for Thanksgiving this week.
