If you're native to the planet of Parmathe, Port in a Storm is no stronger than a real-life can of beer. The only non-Parmathen known to be able to drink that stuff without incident is Chewbacca, and this is according to Leia herself. Han Solo never dared to try it, but he has been known to use it as a solvent for airship repairs, according to Threepio.

Romulan ale should be illegal.

 

I'm gonna have to rewatch ANH again soon. In addition to Rogue One mania, I really find ANH to be Carrie's movie - Leia drives the entire plot of the film and is intstrumental in getting Luke and Han out of their comfort zones.

I didn't realize how big of a Carrie fan I am

 

Couple hours left in 2016. What a Star Wars year its been. Wonder what 2017 will bring?

 

I guess we'll start finding out in the morning. Oh wait....

It's nice when a shooting happens thirty minutes away from where you live. My best friend's mother works there, but luckily she had the day off. Luckily everyone I know is fine.

 

I hear you, PymP. I was living near Boston when the bomb went off at the marathon. Found out later that my cousin who was running it was only a mile from the finish when it blew.

 

Yeah. I go to FSU, and we had a shooting a couple of years ago. Fortunately no one was killed, but I had friends at the library when it happened. Waiting for responses from friends I've been close to since childhood and not knowing if they were asleep (it was the middle of the night) or away from their phone or hurt was maybe the most stressed and anxious I've ever felt.

I hate that this happens here as much as it does.

Has anyone caught the new trailer for Logan yet? I can't freaking it. I love the X-Men, mostly love the film series (all save for The Last Stand and Apocalypse. Shame they never made that Wolverine origin movie, though), and I'm really hoping Hugh Jackman goes out with a bang. He's had a great 17-year tenure as the character. I'd also be remiss not to mention Patrick Stewart's consistently pitch perfect portrayal of Professor X, which has been an absolute gift since the first film.

Well, it's Thursday, so that means I'm going to be drinking tonight from 9:00-1:30. Maybe 2:00.

And, given that the inauguration is tomorrow, I'm going to need it.

 

Wait wut? I thought of all the origin movies they had planned, Wolverine was the only one that ended up being made

No, the Magneto origin movie got turned into First Class but Wolverine's was never made. It was best left to the imagination, anyway.
