Reminds me of the old joke/observation about a company being like a lot of people on a ladder. The ones at the top see everyone looking up at them, while the ones at the bottom see...well, it begins with 'a' and ends with 'holes'

 

Well, the only things ending in "holes" I'm going to be seeing in front of me now will be at the unemployment office. I got laid off today.

Funerals.... Ack! Why does everyone seem to insist on open-casket funerals? It's just jacked up- Especially in the case of someone who died of a debilitating disease that ravaged their body. Now you have to look at your loved-one's body that looks nothing close to looking like they did when they were alive. And don't get me started on the funeral industry. $15,000 for a freaking funeral? Are you kidding me? It's a complete scam that preys on people's emotions. I should start a business where I negotiate funerals for families as an outside, unattached party. Used car salesmen have nothing on these jackals.

This is why I'm going to be burned and flushed. I'd let y'all burn me in the backyard like Qui-Gon if we could get away with it.

On a twisted note: That made me think of the cartoon with Vader on Endor with the Ewoks all lined up with their
little plates and forks... Sooooo wrong... But, I agree... Funerals are just there to play on the emotions of
the bereaved and that has to be as big a mark up as corrective eyewear...

Totally sucks.

Sorry you guys had a funeral on top of the lay off thing.... Can we rewind back to New Years (and the drunken goodness and the issue of Legacy coming out the next day) and just start this damn year over already????

I get here this morning to my boss saying he's got to leave and head to Nashville on an emergency and we need to reschedule all 5 of the budget reviews with the mills. So yeah, we're talking about hordes of people here.
