Aayla was not the first PT EU character to be in the PT. Aurra Sing beat her.

 

Aurra Sing is technically a movie character, her appearance was probably short enough for all of those writers to have made her up without even seeing the movie.

 

Actually no, Aurra Sing was included in the comics (and a video game as well I believe) after her appearance in Episode I. Aayla Secura was an established comic character before she was included in Episode II.

Hey, anybody catch Aayla's cameo in the 12 min. Clone Wars Season II Chap. 21 today? She's even mentioned by name The way I always pronounced it too.
The entire episode was as spectacular as you would expect from the series. The final moments especially.
I don't think we'll see more of Aayla though. We'll have to read about her in the comics leading up to EpIII.

 

I think she is actually one of the best EU characters...

 

Chapter 21 was a great episode of the "Clone Wars" cartoon, the first half full of action and the second half had lots of character development.
I really enjoyed seeing all those ARC troopers in action.

 

It was cool seeing Aayla in the first 2 new episodes, even if they were very short cameo scenes. I was very surprised to see how much Shaak Ti was involved and a major focus in the last 2 episodes. I think there'll be a CW Shaak Ti figure before an Aayla one. Shaak was awesome and was hoping Aayla would've had similar treatment...but Shaak is a Jedi Master afterall
The other alien Jedi were great, especially the "Hammerhead" one.

Seeing the new clones in action, especially the commander was awesome. We even get to see a Blue Senate Guard in his new look.

Yeah, GodfofDeath- over at the EPIII Spoilers (3AS) threads they all "flame" Aayla and I thought it would've been fun to counter them...all in good faith to our favorite female Jedi of course. Aayla is a great diplomatic Jedi.

 

I was pronouncing "Aayla" like "Aliya". I feel a right div.
