I actually enjoyed this episode more than the last 3 or 4 weeks. Probably because there was no Rumple, and minimal Henry and Charming. It still wasn't great but it kept my interest.
    Show Spoiler
I liked the shot of Mary Margaret shooting arrows while blaring her ipod. I thought it was good juxtaposition of the magical and modern worlds she inhabits.

Didn't like August turning back into Pinocchio. August was a pretty decent character. Now it looks like we have another annoying child instead.

Also, if August was completely made of wood, how would a taser kill him? Burn him, but not kill him.

Do they really not want Emma to have a love interest at all?

    Show Spoiler
You kill Sheriff Graham, have Neal engaged to someone else, and then turn August back into a boy! I suppose with the way the Tamara storyline is going, perhaps she won't be engaged to Neal for very much longer...?

I guess if they're going for the Heroes' Journey for Emma, then usually in modern times the Hero has to be unattached, lest their romantic interests die horrible deaths before they realize they're only mission is to defeat the villian and nothing else.

Tonight's episode made me so happy. Kinda. Sorta.

Though my roommate and me are wondering where the heck Belle's father is.

I'm not sure how I feel about new Belle. I like it, but I hate it.

I think it's more the fact that given how much this show has invested in traditional family structures and "real" parents, etc, it would be pretty implausible for them to pair the main character with anyone other than the father of her only child.

Given, this is Disney, that could be right too.

Agreed. Though in terms of flashbacks to Enchanted Forest land, the Belle/Rumple episodes are by far my favorites.

Actually, there is an interesting potential development with NuBelle.

    Show Spoiler
If Rumple actually realizes that he has to go Eeeeeeevil to make NuBelle fall in love with him -- he can then give her True Love's Kiss to free her but not him because she doesn't really know him. But then she would be Belle... and remember all of the horrible things he did to cure her and immediately break up with him. But that would actually be a theoretically decent redemption arc -- redemption via being a bad guy.... :)

Snow is cool in her huntress garb. Regina to her son was like Anakin to Padme on Mustafar.

At least they're changing it up a bit with the new baddies in town. I've been getting bored.

Yeah, you would like it. It's just a show based on fairy tales and classic children's stories. The first season begins stupidly with the additional peeve of an annoying kid, but it's worth sticking with. It's a bit overly sympathetic to villains. Also you get the bonus of them staying more loyal to the source material, but still throwing in subtle disney version refs. And it's not like kingdom hearts btw.

It is really fun if you give it a chance. Honestly, I hadn't been watching then caught the first episode in Netflix for giggles and I got hooked (seewhatididthar?).

I liked this weeks episode until the end. Mostly I loved the twist on Neverland and Pan's shadow.

    And *sigh* Really, Neil? AGAIN?

I'm kind of confused about peter pan. Is it just his shadow that's some demon thing, or is peter pan a demon himself?

Also yeah I agree the Neil falling into giant gaping holes thing is getting a bit old. I assume they have a good reason for it though.
