About Admiral Ozzel in ESB

    Does anyone know what's the deal with Admiral Ozzel in The Empire Strikes Back?

    Did he feel sorry for the Rebellion, afraid of Lord Vader or jealous and didn't like Admiral Piet.

    Or is he "Clumsy as he is stupid".

    He came out of Hyperspace too close to the system. He made a mistake. So yeah, he's as "clumsy as he is stupid."

    Because Piett is his subordinate officer.
    Piett ignored his commanders wishes to ignore the find, and went over his head to the mission leader.
    In essance, he tattled on Ozzel.

    Had Ozzel lived, you can bet that Piett soon would have found himself commanding the daily garbage run on Coruscant.
