    Can you imagine if it got stuck in a pipe somewhere then some robot cleaner put it up in the unit as some workers found the hand and gave it a scientist for study?

    That might result in clones, if anybody found out who is belonged it.

    I know in the old EU, Luke did have clones, but I don't know if they came from the hand.

    Yes, in Zahn's Thrawn trilogy, a clone known as Luuke was created from the hand. Luuke. Another u. Another you. Get it?
