Are they going to change their name to Chicago Wolves Next year, Because they took a bite out of the Marlins tonight. I'm not a big baseball fan, but I'm sure glad they won, Congrats Chicago.

I just really had too. it's 22:32 here in Montreal when i'm writing this

    ...Meanwhile somewhere in Florida:

    *Flop, Flop..Flop.....Flop.. Flop*

    -What's That?
    -A Marlin.. I think
-Why is it flopping like that
-Cause a Cub took a bite out of it!

    8-3 Final Score... Ouch..

    EDIT: inputed final score

I'm not a Cubs fan, but I am rooting for you guys to beat the Marlins. There's nothing that would be better than a Red Sox-Cubs World Series!!!

I think the error had more to do with that 8-spot.

As soon as that happened, I got that feeling about the destiny of the Cubs...

    But tomorrow's a new day.

I really feel bad for you guys, I watched most of the game in hopes to see a huge celebration....but really, who wouldn't have tried to grab a fly ball if it was coming toward you? No one can honestly say they wouldn't...or probably more likely, "No I wouldn't, I'd be ducking for cover." Anyhow, that fan didn't bumble the double play and there's plenty of blame to be passed around, that's for sure. Here's hoping the cubbies rally tonight.

That was a very depressing game. I think I sat on my bed for about an hour in shock. The whole fan thing was upseting at first, but, yeah, most people would have reached for the ball.
The thing that really gets me is that Gonzo (Alex Gonzales) bobbled that ball which would probably have been a double play... And they should have taken Prior out when he started to slip, even though he pitched a great game up until that point.
Well, I'm wondering if it's a good thing that I have to work from 8 to 10 tonight so I can't watch the game. I so nervous right now that I'm not sure I could even sit through it!

    Greetings from Boston.

I just wanted to wish you Cubs fans good luck tonight. We hard luck fans need to stick together.

I was a huge Ryne Sandberg fan growing up and still have all of his Baseball cards and an autographed ball.

That last inning made me think of those t-shirt spoofs on the "Got Milk?" slogan...

    "Got Wood?"

EDIT:Well I guess that the Cubs aren't Yet ready to become Wolves. but i'm sure they will grow only stronger from this experience.

Congratulation for getting there guys, and don't stop pushing your limits.

    ....or not. :_| :_| :_| :_| :_|

People blame that fan because Alou was going for the ball; if he'd caught it, things would likely be different right now.

At least JediJeff can be happy now.

Wow, what a horrible end to the Cubbies' season.

And Dave "General" Veres even pitched...

Let's not blame that fan. He was not the only one to reach for the ball.

And the Cubs did not lose the on account of him. they lost cause:

-shortstop error after that fan episode

    -Great Marlins pitching

-Weak pitching on Wood's part in Game (4 balls..3 scored!)

    - an other reasons..but it surely was not one single occurence that caused the Cubs demise
