I didn't want to start this topic up. But the original thread that I saw was already closed. And I couldn't just sit here and let this slide.

Well, the fact is most Koreans hate the terrorists who did this! Don't believe everything you read in just one newsource. They have their biases. Did the news you guys read ever give you the statistics on how many Koreans turned anti-american from this incident? NOOO!

If you guys don't believe me, you can check out these news links!

Anyone, who knows anything about Koreans would have predicted that we would want to kill the terrorists. We have one of the toughest military culture on the planet. Even this military website says so.

"Many American operators consider some of the South Korean commando training even tougher than that found in American special operations schools. The Koreans have long had a tradition of toughness, and the concept of highly selective commando units who went through brutal training, had a lot of appeal in South Korea."

And so does every other soldier who trained with them:

"I have seen the South Korean soldiers first hand, these are very tough people. They're daily Physical training starts off with calisthentics and Ty Kwon Doe and finishes off with a 5-10 mi run in BDU pants and combat boots. It doesn't sound all that impressive until you see them running in sub freezing temps with no shirts brrrrr. And all this for $7 a month. We used to call em "rock" soldiers. ROC is an acronym for Republic of Korea."

"I remember them growing up overseas. We always wondered if the Turks or ROK troops were tougher. After observing Korean guys kick the sh** out of each other just for fun on a day off, we gave it to the ROKs."

"Koreans - Never, and I mean NEVER piss off a Korean, Some of the most intense people I have ever met, soldiers to the core. I once trained an E8 whos name was, and I kid you not, Sgt Roc. Need I say more?"

"A Korean riot policeman proceeded to pick the d@mn thing up and toss it back into the crowd of protestors...these people are serious about what they do...and they understand what it means to be threatened from without and within..."

"I can attest from personal training experience that the South Korean army (and their special ops) are the toughest, meanest, nastiest, most unflinching bunch of soldiers I have ever encountered every one of them, right down to the cooks. Their training consists primarily of killing as many North Koreans as they can, any way they can. I am personally concerned that we have allowed 3,000 of them into Iraq -- they only recognize their own command structure and believe (as a matter of military doctrine) that orders from an over-all structure outside their government is "suggestion only....""

The only reason now why our troops are not out there for combat, is because our country is currently run by liberal extremist, pacifist, weak, incompetent president. But at least our troops are out there helping the iraqis.

And about our military. We make our own weapons now, many of them highly-regarded and sold to modern nations. We don't receive American money to build our army anymore, we're wealthy enough to do it on our own. And not to mention our troops have fought and died alongside the americans in Vietnam.

What specifically is your position, and what are you wanting to discuss? This all seems a bit nebulous right now.
