If I were Penn State , I would tell the B1G that we refuse to play MSU in any sport until they clean house.

Impossible to gauge the magnitude of what Larry Nassar did, but this is at least a visualization of those who spoke out. Not all are still alive, and one would assume there are many who are still too traumatized to speak out. Each name has parents, siblings, and other family who have endured unimaginable pain.

Yesterday's sentence cannot be the end of this.

They're made to appear to roll.

If you look at the golden parachute and lifetime benefits that Lou Anna Symon is getting, for example, it's one hell of a reward for not having to work anymore. I am doubtful that any of these University or USAG officials will be kicked out into the cold without similar perks.

Looks like Michigan State's Rat Infestation might run deeper than we first thought:

"In what Title IX investigators called “a sexually hostile environment," at least 16 Michigan State football players have been named in accusations of rape or violence against women since Mark Dantonio became head coach in 2007."

Give credit to ESPN for their coverage, as well. Deadspin ran a story citing a closed captioned keyword search that found Fox Sports to have not mentioned the Nassar investigation and trial once on their stations. Fox Sports, who has a 15-year, $150 million deal with Michigan State for multimedia distribution rights.

Fox Sports responded by saying that they do not cover gymnastics.

They're as credible as the **** news station.

CNN's sister station HLN devoted huge chunks of their TV coverage to the Nassar sentencing hearings these last two weeks as well. Including airing many of the victim impact statements as well.

As hideous as the situation is with Nassar, it's highly likely that scandals of a similar magnitude are lurking at many universities and other institutions right now (with regard to both past and ongoing misconduct). It may not be centered around a single individual, but in reality, even if Larry Nassar had never existed, Michigan State would or should still be in deep trouble. There has been a culture of institutional secrecy and indifference toward sexual assault and misconduct allegations. I'm sure no one here believes that MSU is unique in terms of how they've handled reports of sexual assault by athletes and staff members. With that in mind, there are probably dozens of universities with incidents just waiting to be uncovered. One wonders how many university officials past and present are currently in possession of damning information about their own programs and institutions.

@KnightWriter - I an certain you are correct. When/if Ohio State is exposed in similar, systemic ways, I will never again watch an Ohio State game. Period.

And even then, sometimes nothing is done about it, except excising a few symptoms of the problem to make the media attention (and any serious investigations) go away. Exhibit A: Baylor.

And here we go. This is a good next step.

Greg Abbott (normally vomit, here good) has mobilized the Texas Rangers (criminal investigative unit, not mediocre baseball team) to initiate a criminal probe of the Karolyi Ranch. Tied to the Nassar investigations, but who knows what horrors they'll turn up there.

Can only hope that some of Bela and Marta's old pupils show up to scream at them about their weight when they're being fitted for prison jumpsuits. Karma.

He did what every single one of those parents wanted to do. I wish they wouldn’t have tried to stop him so quickly.

Exactly. That's why I didn't condemn Paul Sorvino's comments about wanting to kill Harvey Weinstein a few months back for sexually assaulting and then blacklisting his daughter. Any parent is going to feel that way when one of their children is attacked like that.

Edit: Judge is opting not to pursue charges against the father. Good call.
