AC idea.

I was thinking about jeff and his promotion, and about how someone could replace him (but he won't have any of that) and about how that new person would do their term, ie. would they get a full term etc. And i stumbled upon an idea:
What if the terms of the AC members were staggered? It's on a what? 6 month term right now correct? So, every 3 months, "they" would choose half of the ac will be replaced, then 3 months later, the other half gets replaced. This way, it would help the newer AC members get the feel of it and all, it would help ease the transition.

 

Actually, the ACers are well aware of the idea .

 

Turning over the AC that much may hamper continuity.

 

They do? ahh.

 

And for the sake of completeness, the current term is three months.

 

ahh thank you for that clarification, i'm a little rusty on my facts.

 

There are a few permanent members so that there are always people in the AC that have experience and to eliminate the need for staggered inductions.

It's a good idea, but they beat you to it.

 

LOL! Good timing, yodaboy... a thread on this was just started a couple of days ago. The consensus seems to be that bringing in a new group of ACers every 1 and 1/2 months would break up continuity in the group so much as to outweigh any possible benefits it would have. It's the ability of the ACers to get used to each other and be able to work together that's given it most of its effectiveness.

 

So far, one thing that has happened is there has been some carryover. The members from the previous term have stayed for a week to 1o days after the new people come in, to help them get the feel for things.
