Hello everyone, long time I have actually needed some help in this regard. Almost three years ago now I got some opinions and tips to putting together my first (and probably only) Jedi costume. Read about that here. Anyway, now I want to take it to the next level.

This Halloween, I want to improve on that costume. I haven't worn it since 2007's Halloween and a couple of times later for cosplaying. It lacks any real 'juice' or originality, is my problem. So I've been thinking about what I can do to it, but I am wondering what I should use, how to get it together. Note: I don't need or want help on where to or how to customize. I need help/tips on how to do it on certain portions I've decided on per below.

First thing's first, the original costume as it stands now (Note: I have since picked up a nice belt back in 2007 that is not in the picture, so no worries on that):

So here's the route I want to go. For the first bit of customization, I want to somehow embroider (or whatever) a shoulder piece to the costume. Don't get me wrong; I do want to customize the outfit, but I don't want the shoulder piece to be permanent. So that's one bit I need help on, and the second is the material I should use. Basically, the piece will just go around the top of my left shoulder and will come down the top of my arm; it doesn't need to be too long, but long enough. Here's an idea of what I would like to go for, pretty much the same style:

Next, there is a problem with the sash. Yes, in the image above it looks very nice and neat; it is, except it's too short. I accidentally put in the wrong measurements when I had my costume made for me back in 2006 and so the waist (sash) is a bit short at (I think) 26". Even in my best shape I am not that thin. So, whenever I put that sash on, the velcro is still very visible. What I wanted to do with that was somehow bring the sash together without having to attach the velcro by embroidering some sort of "buckle" per say on each end of it. Then, the belt I mentioned above would go over it, maybe looped through some rings or something. I got some ideas by looking at some accessories from a Hot Topic-ish store (biker-esque stuff) that would be something like this; take note, I don't need a long 'buckle', just something fancy looking to bring the sash (and costume) together while still attaching the belt:

    Sash buckle

Lastly, I want at least one but maybe two wrist gauntlets. Those have always been very, very cool but I never ever found a way to bring it together. What I want to do this year is get some nice gauntlets (or one at least) to wear under the actual tunic, over my long-sleeved undershirt and gloves. I don't need anything too over the top in this regard, maybe some good old fashioned leather-esque gauntlet with some sort of buckle. Even a pseudo buckle would do. I have two general ideas for this, something like this:

    Wrist gauntlets

So that's all folks. Sorry the message is so long. Please, anyone who knows about this stuff please help me out. I do have access to sewing machines and all that if needed, but I mainly need ideas on how to get my accessories onto my costume, where to buy them or buy the materials to put them together, and any other tips in that regard. Thanks for reading.
