I think it is impressive how Ewan sold me on the fact that HE IS OBI WAN. I watch TPM and ATOC and there isnt even a seed of doubt that his OBI and Guiness' are different. Also, Mark Hammil, and Harrison Ford of course....and Portman...cuz shes hot.

 

For me it was Mark Hamill but now I have to say Ewan McGregor. Ewan does an awesome job portraying a young Obi-Wan.

 

Best? Alec Guiness and Ian McDiarmid.
Favorite? Harrison Ford and Ewan McGregor.

 

Good God! I just read a post of mine rom a few months ago that said that my favorite actor was Anthony Daniels. Good Lord, I must have been drinking that night.I must change my vote, with no offence ment towards Mr. Daniels. I think that my favorite actors right now out of the five films are Ian McDirmad, Ewan McGregor, and Frank Oz. After Revenge of the Sith comes out though I think that Hayden Christensen will be added to the list as well.

1. Hayden (all you Hayden haters shut up. He plays Ani perfectly and is a great actor. Evil and hot is a great combo.)
2. James Earl Jones (SW MADE this man! ONLY ONE VOICE ON THE PLANET IS VADER. His voice in universaly recognizable)
3. Ewan (perfect Obi-Wan. period. Same mannerisms, body language, and believable young looks as Alec Guiness.)
4. Natalie Portman (pretty, talented, great actress. "Kind but sad".)
5. Frank Oz (Yoda is now tatooed into our minds just but his backwards talking. He is truly a pop culture icon.)

Harrison Ford has been my favorite actor since I was 5, so it would be hard for me to say anyone else.... I like both Alec Guiness and Ewan McGregor, but that may just be because Obi Wan is my favorite character.

 

I'd have to also say Harrison Ford... I think I've enjoyed every movie I've seen him in. Star Wars was just the most enjoyable.

 

Liam Neeson. He's the man. So big and strong like iron, and yet gentle as silk. What a man. OHHH

 

Harrison Ford ! This movie made his career, which is a credit to his performance.

Besides him, I'd have to say Alec Guiness, Peter Cushing and Ian McDiarmid.

 

Harrison Ford hands down. Love all of his movies, and think he's incredibly underrated.

After that's I'd say Sam jackson. But I don't think he's that amazing in the star wars movies.

Then I'd have to give another nod to Frank Oz for being such a convincing alien.

It is hard to name one single favourite actor of all the stars that have appeared throughout the Star Wars saga, but here is a couple of my favourites.

Ewan mcgregor is an unconventional and smart actor who is admired all throughout bec. of his talent. He ranks one of the best in his generation though he doesn't delve into hollywood type movies.

He's cool, unassuming and NOT a prima Donna. He's not one sided since he goes from producing smart movies w/ fellow Brit Jude Law to penning finely written books to singing on music video with Nicole Kidman and recently, going on brief around-the-world motorcycle trip with a friend and producing a dvd about it.

He's also a charmer too. With a fine lightsaber wield.

 

Let me say that, without question, Ewan McGregor is the best actor of his generation. There are a lot of really good ones, but I've seen hundreds of films from the recent era and I have to say, I've never ever seen anyone as versatile or consistently amazing as Ewan. It just has to be said. He's one of the best actors in cinema history.

Which is a nice segue into another of the best actors in cinema histroy, Sir Alec Guinness I know a lot of SW fans admire him for his work on SW, but you really should broaden your horizons as well. He made so many films in his time and turned in such a wide variety of performances. Stunning. He was the best character actor of his time and perhaps ever.

...but in reference to performances actually in the SW saga...

Anthony Daniels, honestly, is brilliant and underrated. People really do forget there's a hillarious (skinny) man in that suit!

Ian McDiarmid of course. He's just deliciously evil. The same goes for Peter Cushing, though the characters are distinctly different flavours of evil.

Harrison Ford is the perfect reluctant hero. He just defines the category, really. How can you *not* love Han Solo or Indiana Jones? SW was a perfect start for him.

Liam Neeson is very good... and there are others...

There are lots of very good actors in the saga, you know that?
