ACTIVITY #1: CONSOLIDATION

So I guess we're all set. Guys, dont forget to bring your Star Wars item! It's show and tell day! Cholo, if you are here, just bring one. Not your whole room.

For those who feel lazy in opening their mail, please message Jedi Ginny @ jedi_ginny@yahoo.com to confirm. AND if you are confirming, please leave your cellphone numbers so that it will be easy for all of us to spot each other.

Ginny...I suggest we gather at the tables near the middle places..those Tolkien-esque round ones.

 

*sigh* looks like i really won't make it, no matter what i do with my sched. but by some miracle something clears up can you guys post the when and wheres of the EB here at the thread, that way i can just check it out and run to meet you. are you gonna have a banner or something that can identify you?

one more thing, ever thought of the EB as being a chance to recruit members who are not online? i'm sure there are plenty of SW fans out there who would jump at the chance to sign up if they were just aware of our existence. something to ponder about eh?

Hey Jedi, Siths, Aliens, Rebels, what-have-you. Heehee. We missed you all at
the EB. (

Thanks to everyone who attended: Adrian (my slaveboy), Cholo, Krys, Jemi, Mayo
(tama ba ang spelling, Aids?). It was great meeting you all. Thanks for a fun
afternoon.

There really wasn't an actual agenda for today's EB. The real goal was just to
meet everyone else and make some preliminary plans.

That being said, here's what we talked about:

1. OUR OFFICIAL FANFORCE CHAPTER NAME
- I know we really didn't have a majority during the EB, but
you all know the name will be decided then, so it was a
unanimous decision of the attendees (with the help of some
Dark Side manipulations from our resident closet Palpatine
fan, LOL) that Fanforce Philippines shall be known as:
well, STAR WARS PHILIPPINES. It is after all, already
the name of the group, and it's simple but obviously connotes
a Filipino Star Wars fanbase. Don't worry, though, as all
your creative suggestions will be put to use once we've put
up our website.

2. SUGGESTIONS FOR FUTURE ACTIVITIES
- One suggestion was to hold a private screening of SW films
and related stuff. This is a very small-scale activity that
doesn't require intensive planning nor too much resources.
- Another suggestion was made by Cholo. A collector's convention.
It's a reasonable activity, as there are a lot of collectors
here who are SW fans. Details of this proposal will be tackled
during the following meetings.

3. THE SWP WEBSITE
- Since we've already decided on a name, Adrian and Niel, who
will be in charge of the website, will now start constructing
it. By estimates, they will probably have a space reserved by
this coming week. A discussion on website content will soon
be started here to decide content
and other aspects.

4. THE STAR WARS PHILIPPINES JEDI COUNCIL
- You guys already know that so far, there are only 2 members
of the SWPJC. Yours truly, and Adrian, who also serves as
group moderator and Fanforce Coordinator.
- During the EB, we figured that SWP needs a core group of at
least 5 people (more, once our numbers increase). We need
additional people who will coordinate the following aspects:
collecting/merchandising, events, movie information. The
other stuff we can still handle.
- Cholo has kindly consented to serve in the Jedi Council as
the Jedi in charge of the collecting/merchandising aspect
of SWP. Welcome to the Jedi Council, Cholo!
- Nominees for the other Jedi Council positions are:
Patrick (hat_tr1ck)
Ian/Ulan (ianroxas)
DarthScully
- The Jedi Council shall form the SWP core group, who will
meet REGULARLY to plan our activities, so we need people
who can commit themselves to our group and our campaign.
- Nominees to the SWPJC must VOLUNTARILY consent to become
part of the core group and participate WILLINGLY in all
activities. If you honestly feel you cannot fulfill the
duties assigned to you, then you can always graciously
decline the nomination.

5. THE NEXT SWP MEETING
- The next meeting is scheduled for JULY 6, 2002, at around
3 or 4 PM. Agenda will be more planning of activities.
Although this is technically a JC meeting, EVERYONE IS
INVITED TO ATTEND. Meeting place will still be somewhere
in the ORTIGAS AREA. So please try and clear your calendars
on that day. We will not move that meeting unless there
is a drastic emergency.
- Our newest JC member, Jedi Master Cholo, will also kindly
provide some "prizes" as incentives for certain members.
What do you have to do to get the prize? You'll know soon
enough.

6. THE OFFICIAL SWP LOGO
- We will soon launch a contest to create our official logo. Check back here regularly to find out more.

Congrates on your first successful FanForce Get-Together. 2 more and a Rep, and the Philippines SW FanForce can also be a FanForce Chapter.

So when is AOTC eding its run over there (it's now shown at only 2 cinema with 2 time slots altogether and ending very, very soon here )

I think it already has ended its run here. It lasted for about a month in theaters here in Metro Manila.

Which ain't bad, really. Movies that last that long here are usually the hits.


Blame Mandy Moore. "A Walk to Remember" opened here about two weeks after AOTC, and al films (both foreign and local) were left biting the dust. I'm not exagerrating. AWTR is a guilty pleasure of mine, though..gotta love Mandy Moore's pouting. LOL.

 

i actually went to the EB but was a little late (i came at the designated place at 4 PM ). i couldn't find any of you guys among the tables between KFC and BK, so i thought maybe you guys chnaged the venue or has already left . anyway, i tried and i'm happy with the name we've chosen for the group

we can still add the "creative title" either before of after "Star Wars Philippines", something we can all continue to mull about.

Hey! We veered off a little, actually. Green chairs section. Near Jamaican. I think we were pretty easy to spot. Lightsaber on the table! LOL.

the count would want to be active in this group but work calls me to a far away place. anyway, he would try to visit the board as often as he can for more updates. the count did went to shang at the scheduled date & time but maybe the dark side had clouded his vision kaya di kayo nakita.

were you guys still around the area at 4PM? i went looking at each table in the entire food court for any kind of SW memorabilia as a clue but i couldn't find it. oh well.

 

I think we stayed until 6 or something. The lightsaber was on the table, as well as Cholo's amazing photo album. Hope to see you this Saturday!
