Yeah, the pic woukldn't show up but its fixed now.
Garret Hedlund - The kid from (Tron Legacy) as son of of Solo:
Jim Sturggess. Another potential son of solo or member of the younger gang:
Carey Mulligan -As Han and Lei's daughter.
Emily Vancamp - (The young woman with killing skills in the trashy ABC show Revange) as a Han and leia's daughter (imagine her with brown hair). She actually comes off surprisingly tough in different roles I've seen.
Potential Jedis/Good guys:
Jackie Earle Haley
I'd like Fassbender to be in it - though he is planning his own epic Cuculann movie.
Why can't poor Christoph Waltz just be the cool, likable dad for once?
VanCamp and Skarsgard would be interesting choices. Sskarsgard especially but he seems to always be typecast as the "heavy." That's old school for bad guy.
As for Jaina (or whatever they decide to call her if a Solo girl appears in the sequel trilogy) my first choice will for now be Summer Glau. Not one suggestion trumps her overall qualities to play her.
Emma Stone, sure. She'd make a good spunky, younger female Jedi. Or even a younger actress, someone in their early teens with some chops.
If Ben Skywalker is in it, I would be ok with Sam Worthington in that role, as the younger Skywalker girls father.
Mark Hamill as Luke, of course. Ben's father, and the girls grandfather.
Rupert Evans: some sort of alien sidekick or companion Jedi.
I could see Fassbender in this kind of role also, but more likely as a bad guy.
Urban pulled off McCoy very well, but he does very well in every role I've seen him play. Sadly, I'm pretty sure he'll be McCoy for awhile, and not much else.
I suppose that Weaving would make a great alien villain, like a Sith Duros, or something. But he's done bad guys in freaky makeup before...the geek in me wants him to return as the leader of Hydra in the next Avengers movie. Hydra and the Skrull were the Avengers two main villains.
Am I the only one who thinks "Dash Rendar" when I think of Nathan Fillion? Or maybe a Corran Horn or Kyle Katarn? The guy doesn't neccessarily have to play a ship's captain. He'd make an awsome tough as nails cynical Jedi. Kyle Katarn, in particular, would be good for him. Give him a Briar pistol and a lightsaber, a cool outfit, bit of beard, and voila!
I do like Summer Glau, but not as Jaina. Need somebody a bit older for that. She would be totally awesome as a female Sith villain, something cool and nasty, like Darth Maul was in TPM. The BBEG's apprentice, sidekick, or whatever.
If Jaina's in it (which would be very cool), I'm still up in the air about who I'd choose for the role. A woman in her late 20's or early 30's with dark hair and eyes, with an attitude.
There are some interesting choices on this thread, but...
There's been some choices on this thread I would say "absolutely not!" to on this thread so far. For some I assume you guys are joking, or at least I hope so.
Andrew Lincoln (Lead Actor on AMC's The Walking Dead). He's British, very good actor IMO and would do very well.
I would Love to see Nathan Fillon. I think he would also make a great Jedi knight.
My Top 5 Choices for Female Solo/Skywalker Offspring:
Summer Glau (Please, LFL!!!)
Mary Elizabeth Winstead
Bryce Dallas Howard
My Top 5 Choices for Male Solo/Skywalker Offspring:
Haley Joel Osment
My Top 5 Choices for Scoundrel/Anti-hero:
My Top 5 Choices for Senators/Leaders of New Republic:
My Top 5 Choices for Secondary Villains:
My Top 5 Choices for Luke's Wife:
Karen Allen (I know it would be weird!)
My Top 5 Choices for Main Villain:
He could be some Badass Villain, something like an elder Mandalorian...stay in the Background like Tarkin did, but still the head of the Snake.
The makers should stick with tradition and make all villains British actors.
New Leader of the Rouge Squadron... or something else...
Another suggestion -
He played Crashdown on Battlestar Galactica, played Starkiller in The Force Unleashed games, played The Son in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, is currently playing as Darth Maul in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and stars as Aidan in Being Human.
He, obviously, has familiarity with Star Wars, and can actually act as well (he's probably the strongest of the three mains on Being Human in that regard). He has a fairly unique look, and is physical enough to play a Jedi/Sith/some other warrior with ease.
Wasn't he also Doomsday in Smallville?
Female Lead. Or Love interest? She could play something like Tarantino's Bride just in a Jedi way.
Call me crazy, but I think Ted Danson is an underrated actor. He'd make a perfect Senator, elder statesman, or someone like Bel Iblis.
Richard Gere would make an awesome Jedi Master. Maybe someone who was never discovered because of the Clone Wars, who learned the Force in secret, and assisted some far flung chapter of the Rebellion...
For some reason, I keep thinking of Rider Strong for either a Skywalker or Solo son.......
No one's brought up Ron Jeremy yet????
I'm not sure Episode 7 will load up on too many older actors even if they are greats like Morgan Freeman. it's almost like too many good performances by more older actors could show up the big 3 and may also give the movie too much of a "Cocoon" feel to it. it's going to be a real challenge to see who they get to play these younger leads. I dig some of the choices here though.
Edris Alba, James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender. For a start.
