What a waste getting someone fresh to play a role thats now 6 films old.... How ever much i enjoyed Ian's performances as Palps and i think he should've received more awards for his portrayal in ROTS and ROTJ, Palps time has passed and he's been defeated and a younger more powerful Sith Lord will emerge.

Will Palps come in as a Force Ghost to teach Driver? Or is that Sydow's role?

Or Driver could be playing Palpatine Jr.

    Or a Palpatine clone.

Or the Palpatine thing could be purely false and in the end the villain will not be someone we've seen before.

I think the Mizzlewump rumor about the Sith Master being a secret Palpatine apprentice and his own apprentice makes a lot of sense.

Sydow will be the new Emperor and Driver will kill him and take his place. I could see Sydow as the Overseer of the Imperial Inquisitorial Academy, kinda like an evil Dumbledore who gets Avada kedavared by his most promising, ruthless pupil, who is a Vader groupie...

What I think could be cool, would be have MVS play an old Imperial officer, who was close to Vader and the Emperor, but be non force-sensitive. He takes Driver under his wing, and teaches him the basics, mostly a few things he saw from Vader/Palp. The rest, Driver learns/finds out about on his own.

I think this could be a real neat way of resurrecting the Sith. One would assume that force sensitives are still being born. MVS finds the young Driver on a freshly conquered Imperial planet, and the death of Driver's parents is blamed on the Rebels. As Driver is "trained" in the force, he creates a new Sith order, on his own.

There's a lot of details to iron out, and I'm dead tired, but this could work.

Most opinions I read here are recycled story arcs from previous episodes. Or flashbacks. Or relatives. Or some random reboot of an old character. I expect JJ to go in a very fresh direction, away from the PT, away from the EU, with respect and inspiration paid to the OT. I expect a brand new villain.

Oh no....he's going for the "Hiddlebatch look" (medium-length luxurious black hair). The tumblr girls are going to adore this guy if that is how he looks in the movie ;)

Oh, look. He's clean shaven. If the Gleeson thread is any indication that will spark up three or four good pages of discussion on his character based solely on the facial hair factor...

More importantly, he seems to be getting good reviews for the film he's showing at Venice.
