ST Adam Driver (Kylo Ren) in Episode VII

I imagine faster.

 

I hope we hear his voice in the next trailer because we know a lot about the character now but no clue what he might sound like with or without mask

 

I imagine him having a similar speech pattern to Darth Vader, only without the mechanical breathing of course. Vader often had a very direct tone and spoke quickly, although there were more dramatic scenes where his speech was slower. It will be interesting to see if the helmet has any effect on Kylo's voice, whether it disguises it in a similar way to Vader's. I guess it will at least have a slightly sinister mechanical tone to it, since masks in Star Wars usually do seem designed to disguise a voice as well as conceal identity.

 

I don't see it. The only odd comparison that I mentally make when I see KR's mask head-on like that is that it looks like A Rodian wearing a mask. Only when it is straight on like that though.

I'm sure it's been mentioned numerous times in this almighty thread, but I would be surprised if Kylo's three movie arc doesn't end with him on the light side of things, mirroring his old man in Jedi.

First glimpse of his voice. Sounds like a weenie to be perfectly honest.

 

He sounds troubled to me. Kinda fits with rumors of his personality.

 

He sounds like a freaking creeper, thats what he sounds like.

 

it fits but for a toy like that you'd think they'd take more 'explosive' excerpts, or at least more variety lol.

 

I'm really digging his voice, glad it's not too distorted or anything. I knew Driver could bring in the creepy factor.

 

Maybe there'll be a contrast between his voices or something.

 

Yeah, I'm getting the creepy vibe and now we have confirmation that "Immune to the light" is a Kylo Ren line and not a Snoke line. I think "I feel it too" must be in response to Snoke's "Have you felt it?"

It's different from what I was expecting, but sounds like pure Adam Driver, which is great.

 

I'm guessing the "Don't fight it, you know you can't" will probably be during the Kylo/Rey interrogation scene. He almost sounds pleading?

Yeah. Like he is surprised that she is "just a scavenger".

 

to me it sounds like it's familial and the rest of the dialogue if it's to Rey sounds like Vader to Luke "Join me....."
