    Does anyone now where you could get a flame plug-in for Adobe After Effects, or other really cool plug-ins other than trapcod.

    EDIT: oh, and don't put down the trapcode products. they aren't that expensive, and are well worth any price. I doubted it at first, but Particular is my favorite plugin, as well as shine.
    they have proved to be invaluable...
