|Advisory Council Update As Of Dec. 11, 2002|
    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

"Shhhhh... It's so quiet....It?s so still?."

In this last week we have had quite a quiet spell in the Advisory Council. So in a feeble attempt to fill my mind numbing days with excitement and action, I have created the update in the form of interpretative dance.

However, this does not translate well into markup codes, so I have included a translation into English for all you Philistines.

Here's a brief run-down of what we discussed:

//Waves arms above head like a chimpanzee.

    I. ?The threads won?t die!?
    • Continuing discussion of various minor issues from the last update

//shakes booty like it has never been shaken before

    II. ?C- Could do better.?

    • An AC Project: Discussing Board evaluations

//strides office like he is a lion

    III.Guidelines to Bannings

    • Discussion sired from Communications about bannings

//Fake throws a rugby ball and stands around waiting for 90 minutes

    IV. New JCC Game?
    • You Americans and your strange sports. PLAY PROPER FOOTBALL

//emotes silently in a old Shakespearean style.

    V. AC Bits and bobs
    • We love talking about voting ratios and proportional representation of EU.

//Waves finger naggingly whilst dancing on a car ?Fame? style.

    X. Points of Discussion

     I. ?The threads won?t die!?

There were a few small continuations of issues that were discussed last week:

The Creation of the Fansites Forum was alliterated on, as was the discussion of Fan Fic profanity, with some interesting concepts coming out today, (stay tuned for more developments on this next week)

The Election game also had a few more points raised as well, mainly [hl=black]The Gatherer[/hl] stating that ? I am not going to allow spam in the game at all.?

     II. ?C- Could do better.?

As you all will recall, Jedi Greg Maddux came up with, in November, the concept of evaluating and writing reports on individual forums and moderators. These evaluations could be used by the Administration to help locate problem areas. We are now looking to nailing this process down, with JGM and Dark Lady Mara evaluating ep3(NSA), and UKS assaulting AOTC.

     III. Guidelines to bannings

This was the main discussion of the week in the AC. It was begun by Porkins in a Speedo's thread in Communications and was soon brought to the AC where there was general consensus that, though Guidelines and structures can help and are generally very useful, in this case the strict application of a set of rules could hamper modding more then assist it. [hl=indigo]jp-30[/hl] made a very interesting point about modding ?standards? and the need to be equal across moderators, and I am sure this will be a point that will again be raised in the future.

     IV. New JCC Game?

A new JCC game was discussed, the idea being brought in by Jedi Greg Maddux? The idea is still under ?work in progress? and so more details may appear later. Along with the inevitable ?How did XXXYYY become a mod?? If the game involves colours.

     V. AC Bits and bobs

As you may or may not be aware, this term of the Advisory Council (Term Three?) will end a week into January. Thus we have been required to begin organizing our replacements.

    Doing this,

You did not read it that quick!

Go back, laugh at my jokes.

Ruminate on our important and epoch making points.

Then Laugh at my jokes again.

    I demand it, RMCOY!

There's also a proposal (not mentioned) in the works that would make UKS the official update maker for the AC and the ModSquad, since the mere structure of the informative parts of his updates are way more funny than a Shakespearean misquote could ever be.

I get to go to Weston-Super-Mare.

A place 99.999% of the boards have never heard of.

I = part of that 0.001% *cue Nana dance*

    Brilliant update, UKS.

forget interpretative dancing, if you want to get any respect in this place you gotta do something special, like exotic engravings

re your evaluations, they are always a good idea, but if they are anything like the previous evaluation programme, they tend to be put off after the first couple........probably a good idea for the permanent/departing members to keep at the AC#4 members......

speaking of the new crew, we should run a label competition for them...........sure it will be hard to top the current crop, the new kids on the block, but lets try

Someone should drag UKS into fan-fic, chain him to a chair, and force him to write SW humour :D.

Fantastic update, thanks! The AC seem to be ever on the ball.
