Austin,TX AFF's Film Force 2 - March 2003

We should start thinking about what film we want to see for the next Film Force trip. Here is a good site for movie release dates: http://www.comingsoon.net/movies.php

A few that I thought looked interesting:

Willard - a comedy/horror about a guy (George McFly) who can command rats to carry out his evil deeds (check out the trailer at www.quicktime.com. It really looks promising)

The Core - an Armagedon/Deep Impact type special effect end of the earth flick

Dreamcatcher - Spephen King

Laurel Canyon - Drama/Musical

Piglet's Big Movie - just kidding

Note, I read that the first Annimatrix, which is supposed to lead into "Reloaded" is supposed to be shown at the front of "Dreamcatcher"

 

I vote for either Willard or Dreamcatcher...

 

My suggestion is The Core

Hilary Swank finally falling victim to the bad-action flic...

 

Unfortunately, the one film I'd really be interested in seeing, Bend It Like Beckham (starring TPM's Sabe), is only slated for a NY/LA release in March. [So is Laurel Canyon, by the way, so I guess that's off the menu.]

Of the wide-release films in the Coming Soon! list, the only ones that even fit in the "well, maybe, if I'm talked into it" category would be Agent Cody Banks and View from the Top. And that just goes to show you how enthusiastic I must be about March's offerings in general.

Also, since The Core comes out the last weekend in March, you may want to reconsider in favor of something you can see more than one week before the April meeting. [The 22nd would make a better date, since it's further from the monthly and a week after SXSW is over.]
