    Yes. For two reasons
I don't really have a problem with what he does.

Secondly, I spent every class of Ancient History for 2 years sitting near a highly vocal Laborite, and Howard-hater. Not a lesson went by without him putting on a crappy John Howard impersonation and trying to make a joke about whatever issues were at the political forefront at the time. For that reason alone, I will probably never ever vote for Labor.

    :D

Nope because he is the reason why we are now involved in this war. He is hopeless.

I didn't vote for him last time, and even if there hadn't been the Iraq issue, I wouldn't have voted for him this time anyway.

Unlike most people here, I voted for Howard 3 times before. Not anymore.
The Aussies are supposed to be the good guys. We help stop fights. Not pick them.
In 1991 we helped liberate Kuwait.
A few years ago we helped free East Timor from the militia.
This time it looks like we're going to help invade and conquer Iraq.
Starting a "war" to create "peace" does not work.
Howard appears to be ignoring the protests. As other posters have said, with protests that large, it means that the number of people who sympathize with the protesters but couldn't make it must also be rather large in number.

    Yes!

He is a good leader, good leaders take on the hard issues regardless of the so-called "majority" point of view who marched Feb 16.
By the way, what did the other 18 million (so-called minority) of the Australian population do that day?

There are bigger issues people then what the public can be told. This war is not ONLY about oil there are bigger issues WMD? Terrorism Etc etc.
Should we take part in a Pre-emptive attack?
Or should we wait for WMD to be passed onto Terrorists? I personally don't want my wife or daughter killed a couple of years down the track from a WMD that could be taken out NOW!
What is about to take place in the world is meant to happen. Wake up take a look at the outside world, Wake up Spiritually, Become aware of your world.
DO NOT be taken by surprise by the events of the next few years.

And as far as Supporting America it's the only Country that has any capability of defending Aus (if only for their self serving interests)in the events that are about to unfold you will see just how many enemies the West has and we must stand firm as Allies.

PS.. Any of you who marched feel free to make yourselves human shields in Iraq.

    pre-emptive strike? how about no!

You could just as easily argue that Japan was justified in launching a pre-emptive strike on the US at Pearl Harbour cos they didn't agree with the way the US ran things!

I don't know how that Japan thing is going to work.

Aren't they meant to only have a defense army? Or did this all change.

I kinda live my life out of a history book, so I am probably wrong :p
