    Shloz

    Beautiful, poignant ending.

I guess I should go read Shatterpoint to complete the circle, but I wonder whether it'll measure up.

I do suggest Shatterpoint. I just hope I measure up to it.

    That was a beautiful ending.

    Thanks Kitara.

An interesting idea occurred to me, in light of Mace's closing insight:

If Depa was only hanging on to life because of some sub-conscious desire to be released by her Master, could that be the secret to what made Vader survive whatever it is that he survived? Could Vader really have been waiting for Obi-Wan's release, until he gave up on it and allowed himself to become 'more machine than man'? Could Obi-Wan have at least prevented the creation of Vader in his final form by accepting what had happened and willing to let Anakin move on?

    Frightening thoughts.

Shloz, you always seem to be able to read my mind. One of the things that Anakin had the hardest time doing was letting go. He kept everything bundled inside of him, and in a way so did Obi-Wan. All that stoic Jedi heroism, but you can only save others if you can save yourself and to do that self-actualization is a big part of that. Despite their powers, even Jedi have a hard time dealing wtih this subject. It took Obi-Wan a long time to come to terms with himself and life. He let go by paving the way for the future, it took Anakin letting go of his own desires to fulfill is ultimate one. Brining Balance to the Force.

Sorry, I babble a lot when I consider these things.
