Sorry to hear about your job. My dad's place folded after he worked their for 27 years. A machine shop in Melvindale. That was in June. They just came in one day and were told that was it.
He spent the summer on unemployment (course there is still the mortgage, car payment and taking care of the family), took a truck driving course and finally placed a job last month with like 4 weeks left on his unemployment hauling for the company that hauls for Great Lakes...
So....

So , I kinda understand what you are going through....what did you do?

 

I was a sportswriter for a pretty big newspaper chain in the area. They laid off about 20 percent of our staff on Friday. Our union contract really screwed us over...so today I get to drive up to Lapeer and file for unemployment. Fun fun fun....it's hard to see 10 years of work in my life go up in flames like that.

Whatever job I get next, I do plan on going to the Indy celebration though!!
