Good:
* Finally meeting the PFF people Emperor Billpatine is always talking about.
* Seeing SW:AC.
* Being part of a line-up where we don't have to supply our own water.
* Being part of a line-up where hours served get your place in line rather than letting one individual use their physically challenged status to let 20+ people cut to the front of the line.
* Making new friends.
* Seeing Spider-Man for line-hours.
* Cool mall patrons asking polite questions about the line.
* Not needing ice breakers for the new people met in line. After all, we obviously all love SW.
* Trying Obi-Wan and Cell Damage on X-Box.
* Running into old friends who were mall patrons, but who couldn't be talked into joining the line-up.
* An idiot-proof log-in/log-out system.
* Free food when it was available.
* Force Electrocution at the hands of the Emperor!
* Knowing that we can get away with this all over again for Episode III!

Bad:
* Losing my Harkins Refill cups.
* Mall patrons who feel its OK to disrespect their fellow Humans in a pathetic attempt to feel superior about themselves.
* "Friends" who didn't serve line hours who tried to have us split our hours with them.
* Losing the port-a-potties.
* AzLineUp.com not being updated regularly throughout the two week timespan.
* My old-school (SW:TPM) double-bladed lightsabre not being strong enough to strike newer lightsabres without busting.
* Not getting to play Battle for Hoth while in line. Someday I'll find people willing to play that game.
* Having my supervisor move his vacation back to the 11th-15th of May so that I couldn't even have off from work those days.
* Not being able to talk all my other friends into joining the line-up.
* Being teased about the Cine Capri by Dan Harkins. (Episode III, Cine Capri!)
* The fact that the whole experience had to end!

 

Dvader's Goods & Bads

Goods -
- Averaging almost 90 hours per person in the group...way to go peeps.
- Samba de Amigo
- Seeing SW:ATOC with friends and people who appreciate it.
- Samba de Amigo
- The multimedia setup we had at the Gamer's Edge Pagoda (DVD, VCR, TV, Dreamcast x2)
- Azsithlord for being the role of the mom for the group.
- free food
- water that was provided for us.
- Hacky sack at 1am
- Football at 2am
- Watching the Fifth Element over and over and over again
- Watching Rounders with people that appreciate it
- Red tickets
- Mike Sinclair being back...
- Sinclair's sister...man, if I was just 4 years younger and wasn't married
- Alex - Sinclair's Girlfriend, who was pretty cool to chat with
- the whole line, who was just fun to be around
- Samba de Amigo
- Making fun of the "sameday" line
- the media frenzy
- Bill and his beach ball
- Meeting lots of people who I only previously knew online
- My wife for understanding

Bads -
- the heat
- waking up in a pool of sweat at like 6am
- the roaches...stupid people putting food on the ground
- Azlineup.com for not being updated. :/
- Technically not being 2nd-17th in line (and seeing the first three rows of prime seats taken up when you are supposed to be the 5th person in the theatre).
- News crews with no clue
- Mall patrons who can't read a freaking sign
- the power outages
- no internet...my Outlook inbox is crying right now cause of the 1000s of email i have to answer
- Wayne for not rolling out the futon


Overall - it was a great experience and I can't wait till Ep III

 

pro:

Everything!... but...

cons:

I didn't like the way the media was portraying the people in line, nor their questions.

The other mall customers weren't the nicest people either.

Overall:

I can't wait till May 2005 to do it all over again!

 

Good:
Hanging out with everyone, and meeting lots of cool people
Free tacos
Free soda
The 501st
Feldman's kid (greatest of all the jedi.)
All the great costumes and toys
Someplace to go with guaranteed fun everyday for almost two whole weeks

Bad:
News people who don't know what they are talking about
People who think they are cool by driving by and yelling "Star Wars sucks." and "Get a life, losers." Yeah, we're the losers. If you're going to be a heckler, at least come up with someting more creative than that.
The heat
Of course, not enough time to spend in the line. (Work sucks.)

I don't know...how many days 'till May 25th, 2005? I don't want to figure it out...

 

The Good:
-Being with the fans
-People seemingly LIVING in front of a mall
-Water
-Signing in and out
-Occassionally beating Dave at Virtua Fighter 4
-Chatting with Joel and Char
-The 501st
-Remote controlled R2 roaming opening night
-Alice Cooper
-Dan Harkins... Cine Capri!
-Time credit for seeing other movies and spending money in mall
-Crazy bikini girl
-Bracelets fell through

The Bad:
-No site updates
-Rude people passing by
-The media with their "let's all have a chuckle about this" reporting
-"Has anyone ever told you that you look like Harry Potter?"
-Losing Virtua Fighter 4 to Dave more than winning
-The day the portapotties went away
-That I bought all my Star Wars merchandise BEFORE the lineup

The Ugly:
-That one older crazy dude with the hood and sunglasses and maniacal laugh... I have an awesome picture of Darth Vader he stuck his head into, making this bizarre face and brandishing a lightsaber. I wanted to take it from him and show him the true nature of the Force.

Rounders played at LEAST three times in the Gamer's Edge Pagoda. I remember the bikini chick, wasn't she the one that said "what channel is channel 15 on?

By the way..the Bikini chick was actually one of the Scooby people just out to get more attention by invading the line up.

 

The Good:
-Meeting other awsome SW fans
-Getting to associate screen names with faces
-Seeing old EP1 line friends
-Knowing that this association will continue on through EP3
-Being Volunteered to look after the TV in Command Central
-Wondering still if we saw a queen type moon shot on TV
-Having Anakin steal my purple lightsaber every chance he got
-501st
-Dan Harkins
-Alice Cooper and the "we're not worthy" gesture we made
-playing beach ball
-R2-D2
-Doing it again (hopefully) at the CIne Capri
-Missing the roaches
-getting a ride home from Obey Wann (Bill)
-Everyone

Bad:
-Not speding enough time in line
-Stupid MVD not allowing me to register my car
-Condecending Mall Patrons
-Misjudging my meeting with my supervisor which could have given me more time in line
-Not understanding all the references a lot of you are referring too.

*Really Ghetto Patrons making coments about "jacking my stuff" in my sleep.

*No place to pee between 10PM and 7:30 AM

Hey everybody! Meesa back after taking care of 2 weeks worth of clean up that needed to be done at home.

The good:
Finally finding a group of SW geeks just like me
Walking through the mall with a *small* garrison of Storm Troopers
Jupiter, Kreleia, Sideshow, Vorpral and others, you guys were great, thanx for the warm welcome!
Sharing my obsession with my daughters
breakfast burritos at 7am
everything!!!...except

The Bad:
The sun forcing me to wake up at 8am
The heat forcing me to find shade every 20min
stupid people asking the same stupid questions
no porto johns
having to watch after 4 kids the night of the movie

I loved the whole experience and am glad to be part of the Phoenix Fan Force!

On the other hand, as a Sith warrior, I DO need practice hunting down something to exterminate. I have to hone my skills for all those Jedi that will die in EP III...

Are you hinting at a royal position Mobius? Which would you prefer - bodyguard (if the other two concur, that is) or Royal Sith Bountyhunter? (nothin' like building up ye olde entourage)

And, I really hate to say this because that would be so incredibly fun, but I will NOT be seeing Scooby Doo - purely out of prinicple. Still, I'd almost pay to see Parsec don his Santa hat and elf shoes with his Sith costume for the Scooby premier. Almost... (I'd be haunted by nightmares - Darth Santa!?)
