A lurker in our midst! lol. Thanks for reading jeday.

So here's what happened. Aurra's and Valik's little speeder chase ended up literally crashing Palpatine and Obi-Wan's dinner. She's got hopes to take out Obi once and for all. Good thing Valik's there to stop her, right? Or maybe not [face_devil] You'll have to keep reading. Emily is almost done with the big showdown, but it could still be a couple days. We
re both moving back up to school this week :D That big post should be up before classes start monday though. I bet you guys can't wait, lol.

Ahhhhh!!!! It'd done guys, but Emily is having internet issues and can't do anything with it until that's all fixed. I'm thinking it won't too much more of a delay however. So just sit tight and the post will be up asap.

    Thanks.

Sorry for the delay guys. Emily just hasn't sent me the post yet. I don't really know why. Just too busy I guess. You can can count on me to put it up as soon as I read it first though 8-} I'm sure it will be worth it too.

Em's computer is getting fixed this week, so we should be getting the post soon hopefully!!!

Welcome to the thread SkyBlazer! Looks like you've caught up just in time. Everyone else, including myself for that matter, has been waiting for over a month to read the climatic clash of the Jedi and Aurra Sing. I'm sooo excited.

Hold on guys- just a little while longer :D

Yeah, I can't say that college is even a great excuse. I have more free time than anyone with an even semi-demanding job. It's just the college mindset. You don't want to do anything when you're not studying, lol. I've just gotten lazy :p Anyways, UP!

    Hey all-

Sorry I haven't frequented this with an update on how the post is going. It's like Ash said- college mindset is when you actually have free time, you don't want to do anything with it. It's been difficult working in time to actually write. Now that it is Christmas break, I've had some more time to sit down and write, and you all should be getting the next post very shortly. In fact, as soon as my wonderful partner in crime receives and approves it. Thank you so much for your patience- both you and my cowriter- I know it has been frustrating for her.

Anyways, here's an up, and a post coming soon!

I just read the entire thing and it's so good!

    I love it!

It sucks that Obi-Wan lost to Dooku though...but hopefully Anakin will choose him over Dooku as his Master-we don't need the darkside winning right away, do we?

I think Obi-Wan should try to spend some more time with Anakin-when he gets a free moment that is-between seeking out the Sith and evading a bounty hunter out for his blood (which is a nice touch by the way)...

I'm not really a Padme-basher (well at least not all the time...) but the scene when Yoda shoots her down was great!

I really like Valik. He is interesting and I enjoy reading any parts that have him in it.

I can't decide if I want Aurra to live and the killing attmpts to continue or have Valik or Obi-Wan kill her.

That is if Obi-Wan wasn't just killed...

He wasn't, was he? Please say he wasn't! He's Obi-Wan! He can't be killed like that! And he doesn't go down that easily, right?

    CAN'T WAIT FOR MORE!!

Wow- it's such a thrill to have such an excited new reader. Thanks REALbls! I now have hope that despite our long break, there ishope for this story to finish itself out with more than just one or two readers, especially if we're picking up such inspiring ones as yourself.

I did indeed receive most of the post from Emily- she has only to type up the conclusion she has already written for it. And I am as anxious as you all to read it. She left me at an even worse cliff hanger than we did you!!!

Right now I am sitting down to make some sense out of the other bits and pieces that go out after this momentous next post, so that we can reward your patience with some frequent posting for a while. Wish me luck.

Meanwhile, sit tight. We're so close!

    **********

Valik had thought he was too late. He had made the mistake of pausing to send a security guard in the Chancellor's direction, and when he had looked back, Aurra was standing over Obi-wan with a saber in kill position. He had ignited his own and leapt to intercede, but he had known he would never make it in time.

But she had done the unthinkable- she had hesitated. To gloat, to glory in the moment- he'd probably never know why, though he doubted it was because she had had a change of heart. But whatever the reason, it had been enough.

Why do bad guys do that to themselves? They have a winning sabacc hand, and then they stop to announce it and the skifter changes their cards while they aren't paying attention. He shook his head. Note to self- if I ever break the law- well, if I ever break the law with malicious and criminal intent- then do it right away, and gloat later. It's the only way to get the job done before some hero comes along to stop you.

Now he was staring face to face with a very angry bounty hunter. He smiled politely and tried to make conversation over the noise of the lightsabers. "Nice entry. I should've thought of that. Then I wouldn't have had to deal with the hostess."

Her reply was a snarl and a twist of her wrist that sent her small saber swinging toward his face. He blocked it, responding with a double thrust of his own. Their blades once again locked.

"It just occured to me that you might have to pay a parking ticket. Those traffic police are sticklers for following rules. Take it from one who knows," Valik said flippantly.

"You talk too much, Jedi," she spat at him.

"It's a Corellian thing," he responded, and attacked swiftly.

She ducked and lashed out with a foot that caught Valik under the chin. He used the force of the blow to propel himself into a graceful flip backwards. He landed smoothly on two feet and brought his blade up to block the blow he expected to follow.

But Aurra surprised him. Instead of attacking and pursuing her target, she retreated, heading toward the opening her speeder had created. With a sneer and a look that dared Valik to follow, she raced out onto the window ledge into the dark of the night.

Valik glanced around, thinking quickly. Security guards were already filling the restaurant, helping to evacuate the frightened patrons. The Chancellor was no where to be seen, probably already having been escorted from the building. Medical personel were filing in, and a pair of young med assistants had already reached Obi-Wan's side.

He had two choices. He could wait, remain with his downed friend, contribute his own version of the what happened to the authorities, and content himself to wait until Aurra struck again, trusting that he would be quick enough to once again intercede before someone was killed. Or he could play hero and step out to face down Aurra on his own.

Valik had never been shy about taking personal risks, and as a Corellian had never minded playing the hero. With a few quick steps, he had followed the bounty hunter to the ledge.

The window ledge was about four feet wide, with no guard rail to keep him from falling hundreds of stories to the seldom frequented Coruscant underlevels. "Good thing I'm not afraid of heights," Valik mumbled. He made his way carefully to the right. It was twenty paces to the corner, where he figured Aurra would be waiting with an ambush. He came up on it cautiously, crouching low to peer around the edge.

No one was there. He straightened quickly, puzzled, and in the process almost lost his balance.

Then the chunk of concrete where his head had been a moment before exploded.

He somersaulted forward, making sure to keep evenly in the middle of the ledge as pieces of the building hit him in the face, cutting into his skin. He cursed his own stupidity. Aurra had obviously gone to the left, and she was now firing at him from the other side of the building.

Igniting his green blade, he doubled back the way he ha

Yippee! It's up! Duh. Sorry it took so long. My computer's kind of messed up, so it's been giving me trouble all day.

I also want to send out pm's, but that might also be a bit difficult, so just if you know anyone who reads this story who hasn't appeared to have found the new post yet, please share the info. I hope that everyone comes back! And just so you all know, there is more stuff ready to go already, with just a few holes to fill in, so posting should pick up.

Anyways- thanks for waiting guys, and I hope it was worth it.
