hmm, did not think of that first part at all.

 

This episode is promising so much so I only hope they can follow up on everything. I liked it, but again, I like Bill Paxton.

 

I just glad Paxton lived and be recurring. But I like that perhaps this was a setup and the folks Ward shot were in on it. It would of course be ballsy if he legit killed them and he now has to deal with that for the "greater good". Great drama can come from that.

 

Marvel Comics are going to be doing promotional art for every episode until the series finale.

I'm thoroughly entertained: I watched the 4/1 ep on Monday, Winter Soldier last night, and the 4/8 ep just now. My likely unpopular opinion is that

Hand was right to call Garrett patronizing, regarding calling her 'Vic.' Oh, I know we're supposed to like him and dislike her, but still, he was being what she said he was. Two tropes apply here: Good Is Not Nice for her, and Affably Evil for him.

But Dourif! All I could think of when 'hearing' him at last was The Two Tower's Eowyn's "Your words are poison." The casting was genius.

Others have commented on all the goodies I've considered, so just one question: Is there a Winter Soldier discussion thread around here?

Given Ward shot her in the head twice, I don't see a Coulson resurrection in her future either.

 

Weren't we discussing LMDs earlier in the season? Just throwing that out there...

 

I posted the quote earlier, and I'm guessing something similar is in the IGN interview that Yodaminch is referring to, but Whedon and Tancharoen have outright confirmed the finality of the actions.

Given how common its used in S.H.I.E.L.D. comics, no, it won't stop.

 

Minor Observation: After Ward kills the SHIELD agents and saves Garret there is a moment there where I swear he was gonna say "Hail Hydra", but he remians silent.

 

It's possible that may have been in the original script (and there maybe some outtakes where Ward says it) and then somebody decided to carry things over to next week to give Ward a bit more 'internal conflict' (Because Joss and his team like internal conflicts of characters)

Format for SHIELD and Agent Carter in 2014/2015 season?

Possible spoilers, but the gist is that Agents of SHIELD may get broken up into Fall and Spring portions if it gets a second season and Agent Carter could be aired in it's timeslot if it gets picked up.

 

I'm all for it, if it allows us to have fresh material each week instead of reruns...

How did this show get good so suddenly? Paxton is a ball as the villain, and real Ward has some personality when he's not playing Slug Thunkhard, Agent of Good.
