Coulson had the best lines. And I don't think they're entirely done explaining what happened to him.

After all the hype, I was expecting better. It was alright, but nothing extraordinary. I suppose it was fine for a pilot, but it felt like it was lacking a major selling point beyond its association with the Avengers - it had a lot of different elements thrown in together, but nothing seriously unique that really seizes your attention. I'll probably keep watching, but with suitably lowered expectations.

Thought it had at least as much "miss" as it had "hit".

I was underwhelmed. Could have been my high expectations. Could have been the over hype (seriously didn't need that much spam on my Twitter feed the last few hours). Just seemed ... not bad, but not something I'd want to watch again if I didn't already have interest.

The flying car was an obvious rip-off.

    But I liked it.

It was definitely a Whedon show, which is good in some areas and bad in others. I'm not sure how much I like Agent Coulson yet. So far he seems the most Whedon-esque. The mystery surrounding Tahiti sounds interesting though.

I'll probably keep watching it. I like shows with references to stuff, so seeing all the links to MCU films is a nice treat. I certainly didn't expect extremis showing up this early, though. Verrrry interesting.

Oh and yay for including Ron Glass. [face_dancing]

I had my expectations somewhat lowered, but I really enjoyed it. Whedon works well with ensemble casts, and every character here had something I could latch onto. I hope Mike stays around, and I love the british people.

Cautiously optimistic going forward, though I'm afraid that if this is a Whedon episode what other writers may do with it, dialogue and story wise. I know Joss is leading this party but I'm a bit (Luke) Cagey as to whether or not the others will be able to measure up.

When does this show take place again? Before or after IM3 (I am guessing after which would put this in 2014).

Also I anyone missed the show tonight you can catch it Thursday...

Judging by the presence of Extremis, I'd say after.

Looks aside, I thought Chloe Bennet (Skye) was actually better acting wise than Dushku (I hate saying that, because I do like Faith and I liked Dollhouse, but frankly, Dushku wasn't the strongest actress to center a show around and that may have been one of Dollhouse's biggest errors), despite the character annoying me a bit.

I wonder if they are going to tie in with Thor: TDW at all. It should be happening sometime around where the show is on the timeline.

He says Extremis is fairly new. Could be shortly after Christmas in Iron Man 3.

Also, the dialogue between the doctor and Hill now make me think either they did something horrible to bring him back (Magic=Awesome back door for Dr. Strange movie!) or he's an LMD. I really hope he's not an LMD because it will take away some of what makes the character so unique. Plus, I'd almost rather it be worse (Extremis or my personal hope: Infinity Formula which almost needs an SLJ Fury cameo).

Overall, I enjoyed it. The interrogation bit was amusing, Fitz and Simmons were amusing but hard to understand at points and Melinda May definitely has me intrigued. Her scene at the end was nice. Obviously the Rising Tide is the big bad so far, but I'm hoping this leads us to something even deeper. Maybe ties into HYDRA for example. I'll definitely keep watching though.

Well I would predict this all is taking place in Spring 2014 because of the weather. So about three months after IM3 is my guess.

    Also what about Centipede?

    Sorry, I actually meant
    Centipede.

    Was
Skye actually the only member of Rising Tide?
