AIM links...

i figured this might be helpful to some people:

since having the AIM remote thing on my site would really bug me, i decided to see if the links would work without the whole thing, and yes, they do...

here is the code:
send IM: aim:goim?screenname=SCREENNAME
add buddy: aim:addbuddy?screenname=SCREENNAME

and thats it

test it out with:
aim:goim?screenname=d33jr

aim:addbuddy?screenname=d33jr

uh oh, i guess that it wont work on here..... weird. but it does work on your own website...
goto the link in my signature and test it out at the bottom of the page if your interested...

No, all messenger services have their own way of doing it.

(note that this takes you to a profile page, doesn't launch ICQ. I think there might be link that does that...)

(note the number at the very end can be changed to get different images. 5 is the basic flower symbol)

Does not provide status indicators, or links to launch MSN. You could link to MSN profiles, but not every MSN user has one, I don't think...
