I never go to the Air & Water Show, I let it
    come to me! :D

One of the benefits of being a weekend volunteer at the Field Museum is that weekend we have the smaller formation flyers like the Red Barons & Lima Lima taking off & landing at Meigs. And because the bigger planes were coming in from an airport in Indiana everything flew past the museum. We even
had the Apache helicopters coming over several times to see what we would do next to say hi to them. ;)

....only if they have working X-wings. ;)

    Okay, and/or TIE fighters.

Last year I was fortunate enough to be able to watch the show from atop my sister's mother-in-law's high-rise condo across from Lincoln Park. Now THAT was cool, especially with the Blue Angels flying literally right above our heads. I'm thinking of making it to the show this year but down with the masses on the beach. I wanna see the planes that are going to shoot those lucky missles upon a certain Taliban leader.

Do you guys know if boats are allowed on the lake during the air and water show?... I'm not sure what's on the water--I've only seen the planes.. but it sounds like fun! I'm downtown if anyone wants to get together.. I'm not sure what's happening that weekend yet though..

I have seen boats on the water during the show but I'm sure there are thousands of restrictions that day. 'Course, we'll help you out when you invite us all on your 50 foot yacht!!! :)

The best time to see this is the Friday before. They do all the same stuff and there's much less of a crowd.

synasp - I've only seen teh air show -
haven;t gotten there early enough in the
past to see the water show. This year though,
I'd like to gett here early enough to see
both. The wayt hings are looking right
now, I may be going Sunday. Saturday
    morning/afternoon I have a lot of errands
to do. I live on the Southside by the way.
I work downtown and usually here the planes
practicing Thursday and Friday. It's always
a thrill to hear the sound of those planes
in the downtown skies. Just not what you'd
expect in between the buildings here! :)
