I think we can say with some certainty that the ghost of Obi Wan is Alec Guiness in Episode VI.
As for EpVII, not sure i want to see more Obi-Wan in the ST, but it would be cool to see a CG Alec if it was the case.

I'd rather he didn't appear, but if he does, I'd prefer Guinness over McGregor.

If Obi-Wan does show up as a Force Ghost, it would have to be a CG Alec Guinness. I've seen a lot of people on these forums saying that they'd like Ewan McGregor to return, but it would make no sense whatsoever if the ghost of Obi-Wan was the younger version all of a sudden.

That's interesting-well if they could accomplish that, then I suppose I'd be okay with an Obi-Wan force ghost-assuming that that would work it would have to be Guinness...

but I must say I prefer that we don't see any more of Obi-Wan at all.

Would be amazing if his family is ok with it. I'm sure it would easily be done by cgi. What about the voice though? I reckon a great impressionist could get the voice pretty spot on

I have said this in other threads, and I'll say it again.....

I really liked Ewan as Obi in the PT, but I dont like that his image has taked over as the visualization of Obi-Wan. If Ghost Obi is to appear in the ST, I would love to see Guinness, perhaps with Ewan voicing. It not only would work better visually, but would be cool as all get up to see!

I've never heard anyone say McGregor would return as the prequel Obi-Wan, everyone I've seen who wants McGregor back wants him to be aged up, including McGregor himself.

Alec Guiness had a really annoying hairstyle. So yeah, McGregor all the way.

As I recall, they tried to use a CG Peter Cushing for Tarkin in RotS, but it didn't work out.

I think I'd just rather they let Obi-Wan rest in piece. They had him disappear in the novel Heir to the Empire, no reason why something similar couldn't have happened in the films.

Nah, dude. With makeup they could make MacGregor look old and just like Guinness.

But, yeah, I would prefer Alec in CGI. But that would be a task in itself, though.

I agree. They should leave it that way too just in case they decide to film TTT.;)

Let's face it a CGI Alec , would be much more preferable than Hayden as a force ghost mentor

No, a CGI Peter Cushing was not used in Episode III, that was an actor in makeup. A common misconception.

He said they TRIED to CGI Peter Cushing meaning they failed so they went with an actor in makeup instead

ObiWan should not be in it at all, it's time for the role of old wise Jedi to fall to Luke.

I have to say that that Audrey Hepburn commercial is very well done, and she seems very convincing. There's a few iffy shots and the uncanny valley still lingers somewhat, but overall, top notch work, I think.
