I'm from the UK and was wondering what you had in mind.

 

emilsson told me about the idea and I like it. I am in as long as the time is right. I would do a lot to see some of Rogues in reality.

 

We thought about London or Bruxels. These cities are easy to reach whenever you come from.

Suggestions?

Oh, and Anne, have you posted this in every euro board? (even UK)

 

Actually, Brussels is the best : middle of Europe, and the most neutral for a meeting like that

Nah, Brussels is fine, I've never been there and it's said to be nice.

But what am I thinking, as if I was the only one to decide... Mr. Ego strikes back again...

 

Brussel sounds good for me. And next summer is a good idea, too, 'cause so we have enough time to plan.

 

This sound like a great idea =) Though I'm not 100% sure Brussels would be the best choice : many of us might have problems to communicate there... and plus, summer 2002 = the release of the ep-2 ! Wouldn't it be lovely to go and see it all together in E.n.g.l.i.s.h. ? =)

London would be awsome!
There is a ferryboat going from Hamburg to London (well not exactly London, but Harwich sp?) The German Fans (and of course any other) could go on a 21 hour cruise on the northsea! On the ship are 2 tiny movie theaters, a "disco" restaurants and so on. It would be really fun to do that, since we are planning a German Speaking FF meeting between X-Mas and New Year anyway and this would be a perfect occasion to get together again!
I am all for it!

Turr Phenir is your man for organising a London meet up (although he lives in Milton Keynes now - as do the lovely MOT and me).

We had a meet up recently here at our house...there are pictures somewhere.

This would be fab...I'm sure we'd make an effort to come and see everyone.

Sounds good to me. For obvious reasons I'd like to see this take place somewhere in Britain, but I'd be happy to venture into Europe if sufficient numbers are going. As for suggestions, maybe we could hire a hotel or country house for the weekend. It'll be great, especially in the summer.

Hello, I think that this is a great idea, especially if we could combine it with Episode II next year.

I am from the UK FanForce and would be happy to meet somewhere else other than London. Although London probably does make a good choice and it is closer to me

Anyways, I hope you get a good response from the other European boards. Please keep us advised at the UK Forum on the arrangements.

 

Meeting up in London would be a great idea. However, you might want to think about meeting up to see LOTR in December. Since that's out of the tourist season, you'd probably get cheaper flights, hotel rates, etc.

 

True. I think money is a sensitive point..... there are still members in the Fan Force who are still going to school. I think money should be a criteria.

 

We could always sleep at the Youth Hostel, I thought there was one near the British Museum.


Right, now we got the town, we now have to decide between winter 2001 or summer 2002.

Winter would be cheaper allright.
BUT:
- I'm not sure *everyone* would go for LOTR. We all are SW fans, but some of us are *not* LOTR fans (yeah, I'm talking about you Twinnie ).
- LOTR is worldwide released, what's the point of going to London to see it? At least if we choose AOTC, we could see it a couple of month before our national releases.

 

The all-European FanForce meeting sounds great...

As for where we could meet... here 's a thought:
Since Summer 2002 is more likely to qualify... I cannot think of a better place for the summertime than... Greece!!!

Try to picture it... sun... sea... good food... nightlife... and above all Star Wars.
All of you that have been in Greece know what I 'm talking about!!! Those who haven't... here 's your chance people!
