Chapter 68

A-51's visor cracked as his head was violently smashed into a wall. He reflexively coughed and a few speckles of blood speckled onto the interior of his battered helmet.

"Who... Who are you?" was all he could manage before his attacker threw him into the murky water of the flooded Minscinius street.

"One of your authors felt guilty," the other armored warrior said gruffly, grabbing the clone's neck and hauling him up. "So he decided to write an 'up' with more substance."

With his lungs aching for air, A-51 gagged out, "What the hell is an 'up'?"

"Nothing."

The taller man loosened his grip on the helpless ARC trooper and let him splash pathetically onto his rear. A-51 gazed up at his opponent who had effortlessly bested him. "You didn't answer my question," he said with apprehension, despite his loss. "Who are you?"

"Spartan-117."

"You're--"

"Yes. This is my second cameo in the story."

"...I'm in a story? And why are you appearing again?"

"The same author who felt guilty is also a shameless Halo fan and knows it annoys his partner."

"Wait, so the two guys that decide what happens to me are...?"

"No. Writing partners."

"Oh, okay."

 

LMAO.

Guilt Chapter 2

Whiteness. Up, down, left, right--nothing but an overwhelmingly blank void. Regardless of this disorienting environment, Niner stayed resolute. A leader must be solid. A leader must be reassuring. And as much as he wanted to curl up into a fetal position and cry, it was unbecoming of a commander.

"Stand fast, Omega."

"Where are we, sir?" asked Darman, waving his Deece about. He suddenly fixed his aim on a figure floating towards them. "Oh, you gotta be kidding..."

It was, again, Spartan-117. Such shameless crossovers were the work of crappy fangirl writers. This was unacceptable.

"I am the Maste--"

"Yeah, yeah, we know who you are..." Fi droned.

The Spartan slowly turned to face the commando to ensure that Fi was staring at his reflection in his gold visor.

"Don't you ever interrupt me. I'm a canon character, not some Expanded Universe loser like you."

That stung. The entirety of Omega Squad collectively held back sniffles. Clearing his throat, Niner spoke first. "What are you doing here? Again?"

"This place is the void in which characters must wait in while the author procrastinates and/or goes about his or her daily life. A sort of Purgatory if you will."

"Oh... How long do you think we'll be here?"

At that moment, the skeletal remains of A-51 drifted past them, trailing dust and lovingly ******* up continuity.

Dramatically, the Chief stared into an imaginary camera. "I need a weapon."

"You, uh, didn't answer my--"

But, sorry folks. Kudzu's kinda outta the game 'cause he got himself a new girlfriend.

 

Got my scores back, folks. 1620 out of 2400. Not so good.

And not surprisingly, I scored way higher on Critical Reading/Writing than I did for Math. Oy.

 

Just FYI, FanFic Awards are in progress, and AIDW's still eligible for nomination, and I just did so.

Let them get the award this time, alright?
