    Anyone else going?

Here's our chance to mingle with the costumers, and chat with fellow Star Wars Fans. We can also try to convince some of them to start posting on these boards as well as be involved with a group that doesn't involve costuming.

It lacked something for me, but that's because I'm not a costumer. However, it was good to see everyone there, and meet a few people. :)

    Here's the scoop:
    Attendees:
    AramysStrael
    JediGunship & Family
    Jawafett
    Grumpydevil
    Quick2

We talked about the T-shirts. Some upcoming events :"Death Troopers" Book signing, Portland Comic Book Show Nov.15th, and a Few Charity walks (Light the Night, and Maybe Komen Race for the Cure Sept.20th).

As for the Portland Comic Book Show Nov.15th. There is a combined area with the costuming groups which there is a planning commision for, I will attend to gather info. We will have table space to man to peddle any info we want to give out about Oregon FanForce. Details to come.

It was great to see JediGunship and his family as always, Thanks for coming. You missed the chance to see me yell at everyone to joing the Oregon FanForce, 'course everyone said "where do we go to join?"

It was a very nice park, covered area (reservable), some activities (Golfing, Football throwing, and Horse shoes). There was a planned Cloud City Garrison Meeting which we were allowed to participate in, yes the conversations were mostly about their activities, but we are working together to help us be more active with recruiting members and to be seen as an active Star Wars Fan group.
Spread the word that we are here!

Yeah, sorry that you guys left before the meeting actually started to pertain to subjects that affected you. That is one of the unfortunate sides of these garrison meetings, especially when some folks rattle on and on, and on, and on... but I wouldn't know who would be like that! :p And it does tend to get a bit chaotic when people speak out of turn and so-forth.

But yeah, Kyle set up a committee to discuss the dynamics of the show and the role of the individual groups involvement in the show. So, I think we can all expect some good, positive experiences with the show. Speaking from the Merc perspective, this looks like it will be an excellent opportunity to forge good alliances within the Star Wars fan community within our geographical area.

As for the Portland Comic Book Show Nov.15th, there is a combined area for table space with the costuming groups which there is a planning commision for, I will attend to gather info. We will have table space to man to peddle any info we want to give out about Oregon FanForce. Details to come.

    The Star Wars groups are:
    501st Legion- Cloud City Garrison
    Rebel Legion- Kashyyyk Base
    Mandalorian Mercs- Pacific Region
    TheForce.Net- Oregon FanForce

The planning commision will be made up of members from each group to discuss how the area will be used, who has responsibilities for what, how many members to work the tables, etc.

Our inputs will be gathered from a PCB show thread as to how many members are willing to show up for doing shift time work at the table.
