I wonder what color a Sith shield should be? I'd like to think red would work, but maybe not.

More like a regular shield, but made of light. Sort of like the Gungans, but probably cooler because a Sith design. It would emit from the device on the Sith Legionnaire's arm.

That shield you posted would be cool too. Would make the Sith Legion look ghostly. Red light would be preferable.

If you're going to bring up a Mass Effect reference, how about crossing over to Star Wars?

Like this picture of a husk-ified Tikkes (Quarren Separatist leader) I found:

That picture would do well as an example for the realism in SW thread. Lightsabers are fantasy weapons, but the details of them on the arms like that is unrealistic even on the standards of space fantasy. It's unbelievable and stupid, although stylistically it looks kind of cool. Darth PJ

They might work adequately for one quick backstab/surprise attack, but they'd be horrible in a duel.

They seem dangerous even for this attack. The blade is inches from the hand!

Here's a higher-ranking member of the Army, let's say a Sith Centurion. While still not comparable in might and battle prowess to a fully trained Sith Lord or a Jedi, these warriors can hold their own quite decently against regular foes. Like their regular legionnaire counterparts, they carry a shield emitter on their left forearm. As it is often used in combat against lightsaber wielding foes, the energy shield itself is projected in front of the vital components, instead of around them, so as to protect the emitter as best as possible. It can withstand a few dozen hits from a lightsaber before collapsing.

The face of the helmet is chilling. I love the whole thing, but especially that aspect. This is already cooler and more plausible most of the things I've read in the EU.
