it's amazing how much fan art can come from just 88 seconds of Star Wars

 

I thought compositionally, the area that I'd left blank for the billing block, would be off centre to the right, so I decided to leave that edge open as I thought it looked nicer. When there's more official images to draw from I'll do something a bit fuller.

the idea here is to show luke returning to a now destroyed moisture farm, but now as a full jedi master. it shows how he's come full circle after 3 decades.

 

I find the lack of Williams disturbing though

Yeah, these two. The first one by Kaz Oomori, which I initially saw yesterday, may be my favorite of them all in terms of representing what we got in the trailer. It is simply amazing in every way and has a good shot at being a screen saver on my laptop in the near future.

The second though transports me to another world and is breathtaking in its beauty.

 

Sorry I have no pics but I just wanted to say the beauty of some of these pictures is astounding, thank you, they are magnificent. By far the best thread on here.

I think I first saw that poster shortly after they announced the title, but before the teaser was released. That's why Finn and Ridley are sporting differing costumes there than what we saw them with in the teaser. The artist simply didn't have the designs available at the time.

 

I'd really love to see something done in the vein of the original Star Wars one-sheet; the one with Luke raising the lightsaber triumphantly into the air, with Leia at his leg and the droids behind him, the helmet of Darth Vader looming in the background, X-Wings flying in formation towards the Death Star off to one side. Amazing piece of work. I'd do it myself, but my artistic abilities are sadly and unfortunately non-existent.
