    I figured the lounge was up on 2....nose turret---> crew quarters---> lounge---->galley

Also...the side docking ports have ramps going up...so can they shift to the different levels? is the whole lower level cargo space?

And would the Ghost be a light freighter or a medium freighter....it is technically longer than a Barloz. 41 meters for Barloz and 43 meters for The Ghost

Its not easy to tell what ship a ship that size is from the distance they would be. In most instances they are going to be 3 or more miles away. At that distance you would be able to see it, but you would be unable to identify the ship visually.

Does the Barloz have crew accommodation quarters? If not, then designating the Ghost as a Light Freighter still makes sense, in terms of cargo being carried.

The difference between light freighter and medium freighter varies by era and marketing. The Barloz 'medium' actually has less tonnage then it's replacement in CEC marketing, the YT-1300 light freighter...

The Ghost is a VCX series, and the VCX series have a tendency for more armament and firepower then the YT-series. Before the show, the earliest known VCX was the VCX-350, which was supposedly introduced in the period after RoTJ. The Ghost is at the earliest a Clone Wars era design, with more military applications incorporated into the ship. I wonder if CEC was actually planning to sell it to the Empire, as later VCX ships were purposefully designed for military and Imperial use as armed freighters, escorts, and couriers.

All of this means that the Ghost is actually a relatively new ship, unlike the 50+ year old (at this time) Millenium Falcon. It's also a ship designed with a more dangerous galaxy in mind... armed with two large turrets, an integrated ship to shore shuttle, and so forth. Cargo capacity is probably around the 100-200 mT range.

A medium freighter of this era would probably be in the 400+ mT range, and even more heavily armed. Just take a look at the YZ-775.

Ah thanks! That totally makes sense.

That introduces a side question, though: If Ghost is relatively new, it must have been quite expensive. I'm not sure Cham Syndulla has the funding to spare to procure a (relatively) new armed freighter ... to be used in ops duties away from Ryloth.

Which means that our favorite green Twi'lek should have a wealthy benefactor.

    Wonder who...

You guys have all surely seen these images, but I'll share them just so they are a part of the record of the thread:

Myself? I'm still hoping Hasbro announces the release of a nice Ghost toy.

A large, detailed BMF-style Ghost would be incredible. But I'd gladly take a scaled-down version, akin to the original Kenner Millennium Falcon release, or even a big Ghost shell from the "Hero" series line.

So, based on that nice picture, the 'wings' of the Ghost are actually the main cargo bay?

    Hmm...

I think therefore the walls of the upward slanting corridor from the docking rings, and also the walls of the 'small' cargo hold we often see, probably they are like movable room partitions: One can rotate the panels and stack them to the side if necessary.

    Like this or this.

I haven't been able to find much more than a couple of speculative layouts that don't match some scenes in key ways.

Has anyone around here taken a shot at it?

Also, has the Ghost been modded since it was first introduced? Specifically the port-side airlock annex. Compare the relatively big room with the side ladder in Spark of Rebellion with the narrow corridor and ramp in Fire Across the Galaxy.

Yeah, that's most of what I found too... I did find a couple of other links, but they were "dead".

The Gozanti's small carrying capacity got it characterised as a light freighter, in the sources I read (The Official Fact File etc).

It is just my own opinion but I'm fairly confident that most of it is right. at least the Main deck and the lower deck

The upper deck is still a mystery to me. the Phantom's up there but what's between it and the dorsal gun turret is a mystery. Some episodes it's a hallway similar to the hall with the crew quarters, but not...I expect the animators got lazy and re-used an existing asset...and in "Rebel Resolve" that suddenly changed into some dark alcove with a wall immediately behind the phantom's rear hatch.

One of these years I'll get motivated to do graphics of my layout.

I haven't paid much attention to the layout. But one of my favorite elements in all of Rebels is the sound of this thing (especially when it comes out of hyperspace). It even gets a nice sound-recognition moment in The Honorable Ones.

Here's a good look at the Ghost in Rogue One, both on Yavin and in the Battle of Scarif.

My guess is that was by the showrunner's request so they can have Kanan and Ezra elsewhere (maybe fighting Maul like Ahsoka was planned to be during RoTS to continue the tradition of "hey where was this important force user during x movie moment in the saga"). My prediction is Hera, Sabine, Zeb, and Chopper are the only ones who'll be at Scarif

did anyone see the Ghost exit via hyperspace? Vader's star destroyers cut off the larger Rebel ships. I never spotted the Ghost, which worries me. Also, The Ghost didn't stay close to the action, mostly hanging near Raddus' command ship. This further confirms that Hera has a larger command than in Rebels.

I think it was a nod to the SW fans in post production
and to the work done on Rebels by that respective team of creators. If they really wanted to be spectacular they could've had a close up of Hera in action like doing a bombing run on a SD or something or have had her ship undock instead of the Tantive IV or something cool.

    IMO,
that cameo appearance of Chopper on Yavin wouldn't have been such a anxious moment if it had been Hera doing something; like loading up fuel. I mean jeez, they even mentioned a "General Syndulla" in the movie, didn't they?

    It was a
blink and you miss, or something you really had to pay attention to and recognize as a stalwart fan. I would've preferred a more tangible and true cameo. Being that this was more a teen/adult style movie than an actual kid film like most past SW films of the past - I don't think it was for the kids or generalized audience of Rebels cartoon imo, so more for the adult ILM people and certain fans. Who knows, maybe its something Filoni wants to tackle at come point but really kinda meh.
