Great ending to a very well-done, bittersweet tale. If only things had turned out where Anakin and Padmé were able to keep their family together and Obi-Wan finds personal happiness.

I'm happy for Obi-Wan and Sakoya, and Padme's reflections on the past and the future were poignant and so touching. Palpatine did indeed underestimate the Skywalker family.

I?m really glad everyone is happy to see Obi-Wan & Sakoya together ? they make a good couple. Who knows what I?ll do to them in the future. LOL

Yoda's death was sad, but there was a peace and a feeling of rightness about it, too. I'm so glad he did live to see the galaxy liberated, though. And it was lovely how Qui-Gon and Mace welcomed him.

I still think of ESB when Yoda tells Luke, ?when 900 years you reach, look as good?. Yoda is quite endearing to me and I wanted his death to be special. We all knew he was getting up there in age so it was only a matter of time. What a way to be escorted to your new ?home? than by friends of old! I also have an affinity for Qui-Gon as you can see since I brought him in a few times throughout this story.

You joined me not long after I began posting and always had such wonderful comments. You even went as far as to mention my story in the review challenge! Thank you for continuing to read and for your support ? I really appreciated it.

Well everyone, this is it? *sigh*

I wish I could say the story wasn?t over?but it is and what an experience it?s been for me!!

I began writing years ago but didn?t pursue it on a regular basis. I daresay that has changed.

I first began writing Alliance last year. I went through so many rewrites that?well, it would make your head spin. Of course, I can joke about that now but at the time it was a bit frustrating and I often wondered what I?d gotten myself in to.

Ever since ROTJ, I?ve always had the ?what if? running through my head. What if Anakin didn?t become Darth Vader, what if Padmé lived, what if the twins grew up w/their parents? And so during the summer of AOTC I began to write. I had the main part of the story and then by late fall I just couldn?t get the story to flow as I envisioned it. Therefore, I took a break?a long break. When I felt ready, I went to my keyboard and dared it to stop me this time.

It tried, but I was determined.

Along the way I had met people whom I befriended and their help was as an indescribable asset. Among those whose input and opinions were the most poignant would most definitely be PadmeLeiaJaina and Slowlearner.

PLJ was my first beta, but when her own story, Jaina?s Journey, took off, it was too difficult for her to keep up w/both. For those of you that have seen her epic, you understand what I?m talking about. I tend to think of her as the Queen of character torture and epic stories. J/K Erika.

Her council, although brutal at times, made me strive for excellence regarding Alliance. She made me think about what I was writing and expand on my ideas. She?s absolutely correct when she said that this story had grown since its initial inception ? and not just in length, but development. It is w/sincere gratitude that I bow to the Nubian Queen for all she was able to show me and for her guidance. You?re a great person, Erika, and a wonderful friend. Thank you.

As I toiled away at my keyboard, I knew I needed another beta. I realized that a second pair of eyes was simply too valuable and being the perfectionist that I am, I sought one out.

I struck gold a second time w/Slowlearner. She has given me excellent opinions/corrections in every area. She truly took Alliance to heart and gave me marvelous feedback. Each tidbit she offered made this story that much better. Her keen insight into the realm of Star Wars helped me tremendously and the little details never seemed to escape her. She has this uncanny ability to know what my little subtleties meant and pointed them out as we went along. To simply say thank you doesn?t seem to be enough, Christine. You?re a fabulous person and a wonderful friend. Thank you.

My daughter, who is a Star Wars fan like her mom, pushed me to keep going. She and her friends really enjoy the story and who am I to disappoint my own princess? Then again, if she knew I?d called her that she?d be groaning.

Seriously, I just wanted to acknowledge the people who were inspirational to me and let them know how much I appreciated their efforts and time. I know I can be rather, umm, a?<whisper> Well, let?s not go there. LOL

Of course, all the readers I?ve generated (the unknown lurkers notwithstanding) have propelled this story forward as well. All the feedback I?ve received has been, to say the least, phenomenal (not to mention the ideas they generated along the way? ). There are readers here who have been with me since the beginning and those who came late in the game and continued to return. In all sincerity, I have been truly humbled by some of the gracious comments and thank you doesn?t seem to say enough. Hopefully, each of you will know just how important your support was to me.

Some highlights from the story:

Padme telling Anakin she is pregnant in the "I have news" Chapter!
, ?A FATHER! BLESS THE FORCE I?M GOING TO BE A FATHER!?

When the twins meet the spirit thingy of Qui-Gon Jinn! I loved this part. I always liked Qui-Gon, and was disappointed that he died. [But on the plus side, we got to see more of Obi-Wan!! ]

Sakoya and Obi-Wan getting together. I think this is very fitting, that Obi finally finds some happiness! [If it's not with me, I'd rather it be Sakoya then anyone else!]

Xar'ek and Obi going head-to-head over Sakoya!! *chants* Go Obi,Go Obi! And also, the truth coming out about Mara!

Of course, who could forget Lando! The lovable Larican[sp?]! His part in this story was very fitting, and I praise you on the way you have interpreted him.

Without a doubt though, my msot favourite part, was the final battle with Anakin and Luke! What can I say about it that hasn't already been said? The way you described the movement and clashes were extremely good, I could just picture it in my head as I read it! Then there is the part where they joined forces and destroyed the evil Sith! "Most excellent!"

Again, congrats on the wondeful story Arriss! I'll be surre to look out fr more of your stories in the future!

darth_shockwave ? The Two Towers, huh? Hmm, I think I?ll leave that story to Tolkien. Although, the new story will focus on our newly engaged couple. I?m still working out the details.

I too really liked the chapter where Anakin finds out he?s going to be a daddy! For a person who is as caring and loving as he is ? it was great to see his dream come true and this time around, he knew about it.

It seems you?ve hit on some of my other favorite parts as well. Hmm, maybe I?ll have to do something w/Qui-Gon. LOL. Who knows ? I always have some idea running through my head (I?m lucky they don?t crash into each other ? LOL).

I had started this about a month ago and I had a few more chapters to read and I've finally finished. I was definitaly not disappointed!!! I really loved the way you wrote all of the characters but expecially Obi-Wan because he was always so against the love and marriage but then for him to experience it... you just wrote it so well. I also really loved Sakoya Jade. She was as strong and independent as I thought the mother of Mara Jade would be and I just can't describe how much I loved the way she was written.
