At least that show had Darth Ghost consistently watching it. Is there anyone that ever cared about this thing?

I think there were some KKK members that were fans of its only black character being a robotic slave.

And this is why I ignored the show. I refused to watch until I saw a greenlight for season 2.

Unsurprising. I guess that's just one of the reasons why I don't think GOTHAM's chances are that good on Fox. That show should be on the CW. The Arrow fanbase and established audience is guaranteed to make it survive there.

It's FOX, you never watch a show on that channel until you know their not going to up and cancel it mid-way through the first season.

But it didn't cancel mid-season, did it?

It's just as bad, really. They pulled a Firefly on it and aired it out of order so that the overall mythology arc mixed in with the case of the week totally made no sense for the most part...

See also the Michael J Fox show (not Fox network though, admittedly). And there wasn't so much mythology, it was all monster-of-the-week.

TV shows and Movies aren't the same dick.
Movies have and Act 1, 2, and 3.
TV shows stretch **** out and leave you hanging and then cancel without resolution too often. I won't be burned again!!!

In terms of the main story, yes. But all the character beats and the undercurrent stuff was out of order and disjointed. I noticed it before the story came out about them showing it out of order. Dorian's progression outside of his work jumps back and forth, as does the relationship between Kennex and Stahl. Hell, even the relationship between Kennex and Dorian goes back and forth in how Kennex treats him when viewed out of order.

In today's climate of multiple episode or even season long arcs, audiences tend to notice these kinds of things, even if it isn't completely realised.

Actually, Gotham is likely one of the reasons this got cancelled. I do worry about it's chances, but there's more than enough profile attached to the property to keep it going for a couple of seasons. Just look at how long they persevered with 24, all based off the hype and Sutherland despite some rather poor seasons.

Or maybe 24 survived as long as it did because it was jingoistic enough for the Fox higherups to make it last more than it should have. :p Other genre shows usually aren't that lucky unless you pump the trifecta of serious star power, adequate budget and overall craftsmanship into it to maybe guarantee a solid audience, something that perhaps Almost Human didn't have?

Abrams says he's almost human, Silicon Knights say he's too human... the poor guy can't win!

I watched that program... it was so bad, but I couldn't stay away. Not surprised at all about the cancellation, given its putrid ratings. Speaking of ratings, how did Almost Human fair?

Finally finished the season. Great ending, though the show never hit the heights of Fringe or other near-future sci-fi (extant). Would have liked more, definitely. I guess a cop procedural's never going to break the mold enough to break through.

Vin, it's a solid season, your loss for not watching due to it not being renewed

The shame and irony of it is that shows like this or even, to a lesser degree, Alcatraz, are the only types of shows that tend to innovate the police procedural format. However, the primary audience for that genre generally isn't interested in something that does that (or sci-fi/fantasy elements added to it)- they just want the same thing with a slightly different cast interacting with it. Meanwhile genre fans can appreciate it but it's not far enough into the genre to usually gain traction with a larger fanbase. Thus, doomed to cancellations.

That and almost anything on FOX is doomed to die from the start.
