Alternate to Targa?

    Is there a codec for .AVI or quicktime that allows the saving of a premultiplied alpha in a video file? I think TIFF sequences are too messy :(

    and their really big IMO, even for my 100gb drive.....a nice 25 second sequesne can take a whole gig!

    I think Sorenson 4 has an alpha channel.

    The 'animation' codec allows alphas, although it isn't much of a compressor if small filesizes are important.

    are you talking your own animations from say a 3d package? umm with a program like max you can render out the alpha channels seprate from the model then in ae make the alpha a luma track map. if you are using electric image render out in .img format and that compresses the whole video into one, file with alpha in tack
